So I have to update to Leopard from Tiger. There have been a few problems with the software (Compatibility and iMovie '09) but it is the way ahead.

The cost is the Leopard software and iLife '09, which has iDVD (and not much else).

The issue is a complete re-format, so all plug-ins, programs and non-Mac applications need to be retained or re-downloaded, if possible.

I will return with advice when then transition is complete but I know a bumpy road is ahead.

I just upgraded last week. Or rather I bought a new main hard drive and loaded it with the Leopard box set. My computer is now much faster and more responsive, even as I cram a lot of the old software back in. I had a pretty gummed up OS before, I guess.

Minor problems only. Lost my divX stuff along the way somehow. I publish my web site through iWeb and that went a little wonky. Other than that, I'm happy. Look forward to hearing how things go!
