issues with framerate when screen recording

I own a digital version of the film I am currently working on.

for my main source, I am using a file ripped by somebody else, but for deleted scenes I don't currently have that option. I am screen recording from the digital platform using OBS. I have set OBS at 29.97 for recording, but the resultant file is showing a repeated frame ever 3 or 4 frames. this is of course introducing judder into my project.
does anyone have any tips or ideas?
