In an adventure that spans the centuries, Captain Kirk fights alongside a U.S.S. Enterprise from the past to stop a devastating war that should never have happen.

Drawing upon elements from the classic Star Trek television series, "In Harm's Way" is an action thriller that never lets up. With surprises at every turn, the episode is a pulse-pounding feast for the senses from beginning to end.

Made completely by Star Trek fans purely out of the love for the series, this non-profit production includes cameos by Trek alumni BarBara Luna, Malachi Throne, and William Windom reprising his role as Commodore Matthew Decker.

This is the only official DVD version of this episode, at this time. This DVD version is slightly different from the .WMV files you can download from their main site. The .WMV files are of the special edition version of the episode. The ISO file, DVD version, is the original version of the episode. Below, is a list of the main difference between the original version of this episode and the special edition.

1. The main difference is about 1 - 3 additional minutes of scenes.

2. When Captain Pike sends Kirk over to the Farragut to fight the Planet Killer and face the Klingons, he orders "Red Alert". - in the special edition, there is a new scene, when Spock adds "Shields at full intensity!"

3. The other scene, that is new, is a remark of Lt. Rand, after Admiral Kirk closes the channel to the Farragut. She is asking astonished "They don't say `goodbye` in the future?"

4. When Number One went for McCoy when he started to pull out his scanner -- "If that is a weapon..." -- the original cut was of course a bit choppy and it was evident that there simply was not enough coverage of the scene to make it work perfectly, however, with creative editing they found a better alternative in the SE that was less jarring.

5. There were also a few "bloopers" that were corrected. Nothing of consequence to the story, but mistakes that escaped the cast and crew the first time around.

In in e-mail message from, Russ Haslage, Public Relations Director of New Voyages, " I didn't see a lot of bonus on the DVD version, though we had hoped to add something. There may be some narrative audio with it as I recall, as Jack Marshall and (I think) Jeff Quinn watch the episode and tell background stories from the set. I'm not sure about that, though.

"The difference with the regular release and the DVD is that we put in a few of the short snippets we cut out and other parts we replaced the cuts we chose with cuts from the cut. Not a lot of listable differences, but more like some nuances. Personally, I like the regular release better."

In a message on the New Voyages' Forum from James Cawley himself, "As of right now, any plans to revisit "In Harm's Way" or release a DVD have been shelved." So for the mean time this is the only official DVD version out there.

DVD Features:
2 Trailers

It is in 14 parts and is a Single-Layer DVD with a size of 1.26 GB
