I'm trying to import a scene selection that I made in photoshop and for some reason when I import it in DVD Lab Pro, the text and pictures show up but the background is white (and it should be a different color, I used a different background color in the PSD). Has anyone had this problem before and know how to fix it?

Hi, you just right-click in the viewer and select Remove Background... :)

Also, make sure your PSD is 960 x 540 resolution if your menu is meant to have a 16:9 aspect ratio or 720 x 540 for a 4:3 aspect ratio. DVD Lab needs the file to be that size in order to position things properly. Those sizes are the same whether you're working in PAL or NTSC.

What Ultimist said! Also, you want to hold down the Shift key and drag into the background. :)

Thanks for the responses guys. I will give it a try.

Just curious, are these 'built' in avi format, then encoded and used, or does the program build them and output them in the correct format. I have alway used vdub (with avi) to build my menus and encoded using tmpgenc to do menus. sorry, noob thing, looking for an easier way.
