I want to make a fan edit of this one particular episode and at the end it shows a shillouette of matt smith in front of a sun and the sun has a face on it. i want to digitally remove the face from the sun in front of matt smith, i just want it to look like a normal sun/star. does anyone know what the easiest way i could do this would be? i dont have much experience here
i cant post links but the clip can be found on youtube is you look up 'doctor who akhaten speech' or something like that

This would be pretty easy to do in the full version of Davinci Resolve.

While Dr. Who is in front of the star there is not a lot of camera motion and he doesn't move around too much from what I see in the clip.

You can first lock down all camera movement with the stabilization feature. This will make it even easier to apply the clone brush to some areas of the star. It might be good to render the stabilized clip before processing further in fusion.

Use the fusion module in resolve to clone parts of the regular sun over the face part so it just looks like fire.
Clone brush tutorial here:

Then when you're completely done, render it and add back in a little camera shake if you want.
