Hello everyone,

I'm working on an edit in vegas and I'm not satisfied with the video results I am getting. I initially made a rip of my source BD and then converted it to a 37500 bitrate video file at 1920x1080 resolution. The file is 43.4 gb in size but is full of artifacts and distortion when looking at dark/black colors in the film. Sony is quite picky about what it allows to import into it. Has anyone found a good program to make a high quality HD rip of source material? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

What program do you use? Have you tried different settings? Might be preferences issue and not so much the source.
