Original film name: Hancock
New film name: Hancock: Tonight, He Comes
Original runtime: 102 mins
New runtime: 76 mins
Amount of time Cut/Added: 26 mins removed

The intention of this fanedit:
To present a much darker version of Hancock by eliminating a lot the silly humour and over-the-top action sequences. Also, to remove Mary's superpowers from the story. It's now a much more sombre story of a superhero dealing with his inner demons that mirrors the classic story of a god falling in love with a mortal and the consequences involved.

Cuts removed:
-the opening chase sequence
-the standoff with the neighbourhood bully
-the youtube clips
-all scenes/lines of dialogue that dealt with Mary's superpowers
-all references to Hancock being ageless
-the epilogue
-new ending created

Additional Comment:
I thought this was a decent movie right up to the point where the audience finds out that Mary is a superhero as well. They lost me with that, so I removed it. Now Mary is just a mortal human. There is also a much darker story here, and by eliminating a lot of the silly jokes and Michael Bay-esque CGI-laden action sequences, I hope I've brought it out.

This is my first attempt at "turd-polishing". My other edits were just different takes on movies that I already considered to be quite good. I don't think this is a great movie now, but I think it's much better than it was.

The title of my edit refers to the original screenplay which was supposedly a much darker story. And yes, I'm well aware of the fact that it now sounds like the title for a really bad porn flick.

Time needed for the edition: about two weeks

wow. Impressive idea. You've got my attention with this one.

As much as I think Hancock is underrated, I am very interested in this.

This also sounds very good to me, tho I haven't watched Hancock.
I do have the DVD but never got around to watching it yet.
Hmm.. which to watch first?

I avoided reading the cuts involved.
So maybe watching the fanedit first would be a good idea.

sounds like you made all the right moves to minimize what ruined this film for me adabisi :)

I threw in some deleted scenes at the end, so if you're going to watch this one first, you might want to make sure you skip those.

I assume you used the unrated version as the source for this? If so, I am looking forward to this.

Yes, unrated version.

Cool. I did like Hancock but did think it needed it's fat trimmed.

no problems here. What is your problem?

I load the dlc and in the linkgrabber area under Status all links are listed as "online>[Aborted]". Adding the package and enabling it, it looks for the links [Aborted]. Error message, File Not Found.

doesn't happen on my end at all.
I load the dlc and it works right ahead.

weird. Also get R/S Error page when copying the links to my browser.

I'll get a torrent up on TPB tonight in case there are others trouble with RS.

Thanks Adabisi. I just tried a different dlc (Austin Powers) and that seems to d/l fine.

That's a funny title considering one of the scenes that was in the original script, but was removed for obvious reasons. I sort of liked the movie. I might have to give this one a shot.
