EDIT DETAILS:
From Dusk Till Dawn is a film that splits many viewers some don’t like the direction it takes half way through the film and prefer the first half only. this edit aims to quicken the events that lead us to the Titty Twister were the action starts and adds an element to the fanedit that i think makes for a unique edit.the documentary Full Tilt Boogie that came with the two disc dvd includes interviews with the cast many still in costume. this along with many other footage from the documentary has been added to the edit, thus adding a new dimension to the film as it now becomes a film that knows it’s a film.the edit is a little rough around the edges (but then so are some of the best fanedits) and may not be to everyone’s liking. grindhouse effects have been added giving the edit a 70′s look.

CUTLIST:
removed hostage sequence at the begging
removed as mush dialogue from Scott Fuller character
removed speech from Jacbo Fuller about what to do when he turns into a vampire
removed frost Vietnam speech

This movie is perfect for the Grindhouse treatment IMO. It was made as an homage to the old drive-in movies and I think Tarantino and Rodriguez would get a kick out of knowing this was made.

The use of Full Tilt Boogie is quite inspired. At first it provided some good chuckles but as the edit progressed it brought a much deeper tone to it all. I especially loved the opening title sequence but there are many incredible moments throughout.

I will say that most of the interview footage brought me out of the experience a bit. I think I understand why they were included, but maybe it was a little overdone.

The technical aspects of this edit are excellent. All of Leeroy’s work to age the film and cut together different elements is done well.

The bloopers over the credits were a great touch. Hate to be nitpicky about it though but I couldn’t help but think it looked too digitally added.

Fanedit rating of 10/10.
(Fanedit rating focuses on technical and creative criteria that pertain specifically to the scope and depth of changes made from the source material by the faneditor. In other words, I might hate the movie but still give a high fanedit rating if I really respect the re-editing work done to it.)

Movie rating of 8/10.
(Movie rating judges on traditional criteria of quality/enjoyment as if this were an original theatrical release being seen for the first time.)

Overall rating of 9/10.

Very well done Leeroy, this was fantastic!

thanks for the review neg, and i'm glad you enjoyed the edit :)

Rebue:

Man, this edit was fun! Grindhouse and Tarantino come together like mustard and tuna. Pushing things along to the Titty Twister was Buddha-level righteous and wise; there's still enough time to get to know our protagoners and care for them, if that's what some of you do. What's left is almost pure gonzoness.

I enjoyed the scattered interviews. Only the first one (apologies to Michael Parks) ran a bit long. But that's otay, man, fully effin' otay, because it was only a minor speed bump on the road to per. . . purdish. . . aw, fuck it.

Uberall, a joy to watch. The original movie's bonkers inventiveness shines via Leeroy's dragging it through the flour. Rating: 9.5 rounded up.

Postscript: The trailer for Boss N was touching and dear. It brought moisture to my eyes.

thanks sjj glad you enjoyed it :)
