Rare 1979 TV Biopic about the life and career of Elvis Presley, directed by John Carpenter fresh out of Halloween, and starring Kurt Russell (that's where they both met!) This film is excellent, it has been called the best biopic ever and the best film about Elvis. It was nominated for Best TV movie of the year (Golden Globe) and best actor (Emmy).

This is the RARE 163 min uncut version that aired on TV as a 3-hr special (with commercials). This is NOT a VHS rip of the 117 limited release VHS that cut almost an hour of footage (!!!) and made the film impossible to follow.

P.S. I want to clarify that this version doesn't HAVE commercials, its the full length 163 min film uncut. It was 180 min WITH commercials.

There have been some attempts to bring the 117 min version out on DVD but they can't get the music rights for some reason.
