Hi…
Does anyone know if the dirt removal utility is available in the free version DaVinci Resolve Studio and is is any good?

I have a 35mm print scan of a rare film I want to restore…

Thanks for any advice on any other free dirt removal programs that you may know about too.

Dirt removal and dust buster is locked behind their paywall, but you can also do most of that with a bit of fiddling in fusion. I haven't done that though.
I did play with cleaning up deleted scenes from A New Hope though, using a program called film9. It was 3 years ago though so I don't recall the details.

Thanks...I'll take a look.
May take me a few years to comlpete this, but it MUST be retored...and is a burried title, which won oscars and yet is effectively banned..

I found a paid one which is said to be industry standard. it's called neatvideo.
It is $100 but it does have a demo. it claims to be no obligation, but I don't know if that means it's fully featured and totally free?

edit :

nope, not fully featured.

I actually use this plugin a lot in Avid and I have to say it is pretty impressive. I don't worry too much about shooting footage in low light if I have to because I know this will fix it. You just need to work with it a bit to get the settings just right.
