Does anyone know how to create the Lord of the Rings 'ring wearing effect' in a scene?

So I thought I could do this myself but my PC litterally cant run after effects. Is there anyone who could help me out with adding this effect to a few shots? ( It's like 30 seconds in total )
Here is the after effects tutorial.

I want to give the Hobbit a complete overhaul when it comes to it's ending.

My plan here: have bilbo get knocked out while invisible, and intercut all the fights with the orcs and drastically shortening the duration.

So for example the white orc doesnt swing his mace 5 times but 2 times, greatly improving the pacing and keeping the fight interesting. (these fights takes 10x longer than Aowyn/witchking)
