Are there any Academy members interested in reviewing this edit? I am a little disheartened at the lack of interest, especially considering the initial response when I first posted this thread and the fact I submitted the edit for review over five months ago.

Here are some colour correction comparisons, if anyone's interested. The idea was to tone down the oversaturation and the garish yellow & blue grading, both of which make the movie look cheap and distort natural colours found in skin, lighting, set design, etc.

Some shots that are now less yellow (original on left; edit on right):

Normally I'd preach patience, but five months is pretty long to wait. I've reminded the Academy of this one.

FYI this has been approved with flying colors. Seamless editing throughout and smart cutting choices. I'll post a full review when this gets listed on IFDB but everyone interested should check this out.

I whipped up this cover for the edit. Nothing too fancy but I saw that there wasn't one and I'm going to be adding this to my shelf very soon, so I made this. The font might clash with the cover (I don't really mind) but I love your poster so much.

I'm 22 minutes in and I'm surprised at how well your cuts work to help streamline the storytelling. The only thing that I miss is Bond smashing through the drywall, even though I admit that's a bit much to believe in a realistic take on James Bond. I truly hope that you are thinking about doing a cut on SPECTRE. There's a great film in there (I find the theatrical cut to be very enjoyable, BTW, but it's length and character backstories do hinder the experience) and I'd love to see you take a crack at it next year.

Are you thinking about working on the other Craig films?

Glad to hear you're interested in the edit! I like the cover art. The playing cards featuring characters are excellent.

Thank you! Yeah, the drywall - I recently read a film critic say that was the best image in Casino Royale. It's always someone's fav bit that gets cut, isn't it? :p

I might take a crack at Spectre. I think it was a couple rewrites away from being great. Hums along well until the third act, where it turns into some kind of fan fiction fever dream. I have an idea for Quantum of Solace that cuts the film down to approximately one minute. Could be a bonus feature for The Big Picture's DVD, if I ever do one.

I do understand it's removal in this cut, though. It wouldn't make sense to put up drywall without any structure behind it. It's purely an audience pleaser.

Downloaded this last night. Can't wait to check it out! Casino Royale is one of my favorite films of all time, but a little trimming never hurt.

Here's a preview I forgot to post, the romance section after Le Chiffre dies.

In this part, I've cut almost all the dialogue between Vesper and Bond when he's in the chair. This means no more return of Mendel, no awful innuendo, no talk of emotional "armour," no silly swooning on Vesper's part, etc. The way I've cut it, I'm trying to focus on the release of sexual tension that has built between Bond and Vesper up until this point. Also trying to focus on their mutual post-trauma (post-torture) desire to enjoy some sex (a bit like the scene between Bond and Swann after the Hinx train fight in Spectre). And obviously trying to pick up the pace, as well.

Note: This isn't quite the final version of this scene - in the final version, I've added back in Bond's line "same goes for the implant, can't say I'm too sorry about losing that."
