When watched in VLC you have to manually right click go to video, aspect ratio and select 16:9 then the movie is shown in the correct aspect ratio. Has anyone else had this issue?

found this link which might be helpful to some degree. Scroll towards the bottom under the lock aspect ratio section.

I could not give you a reason why VLC is doing what it is doing, but if it plays fine in everything else at least you know it is a software issue and not your disc
