Boogie Nights - Full Frontal Edition by Neglify

Sweet. Too bad the workprint of this film is in terrible quality. It has some additional scenes and more nudity that isn't included in any deleted scenes IIRC.

for some reason the title of this thread made me think you were going to edit in actual porn clips into Boogie Nights. lol

Editing is all finished, but I'm having issues with rendering an HD version, and separate issues with Sony Architect being an asshole and not making a DVD easily. grumblegrumblegrumble

Ok, I've managed to fix the issues with DVD Architect and I've made a satisfactory DVD5. I still need to make a 720p MP4, but I will be submitting this to IFDB and it should be released this week. I'm currently uploading the DVD5 to Mega and will submit the DLC to Info once it's ready. Feel free to send me a PM if you want the links.

(O Great Moderator In The Sky, can you please move this thread to the Extended Editions section?)

May I recommend re-titling it the "Well-Endowed Edition"?

w00t! I finally got a 720p copy finished. The upscaling of the deleted scenes worked out pretty well. The MP4 should be available this weekend.

huzzah, neg!
i'm sure your cut will be boogieful.

The 720p MP4 is online and DLC has been submitted to Info. Feel free to PM me for links.

Can I PM you for sausage links? 'Cause I'm pretty hungry.

You can, but I don't think you'll like the pics I send back.

Or maybe you will like them....

I called my edit "Dirk's Extended Diggler."
I worked in the documentary and was able to include a lot of it but wasn't able to use the car crash cut scene as I was working off of the old regular dvd that came out first and didn't have that scene. I don't mind how the documentary goes on and on. One could argue for making it a part 1 part 2 movie and having part 2 open with the documentary.

Took me longer than I would have liked to get to this but since it is one of the absolute all-time faves of both my wife's as well, I waited until we both had a few hours free. That allowed us to watch the 720p version, which was a nice bonus.

Great job with this edit. This is one of my all-time favorite movies so I was happy to see an extended edition. Sure, most of these were cut with good reason but it's a really enjoyable alternate experience to watch it all as a 3 hour cut. The scenes are of lower quality but it's not jarring and looks as good as it can. The visual and audio cuts are seamless. The music was especially well done over the deleted scenes to create a really seamless experience. It won't replace the original for me through no fault of the editor. The theatrical cut is just perfect in my opinion, but this provides a fun alternative that I will certainly revisit many times.

Thanks for the review! Glad you enjoyed it. :)

Review posted on IFDB:

Boogie Nights is one of my favorite movies: funny, sad, shocking all rolled into one. Dare I say Mark Wahlberg does some great acting in this. But because of it's length (no pun intended) it's not a movie I rewatch very often. Neglify's Extended Edition gave me the perfect excuse to revisit the movie. The editing (both audio and video) was well done (Neg's got the touch! Neg's got the pooowweeer). As Neglify readily admits, the deleted scenes are of lesser quality and it's noticeable. But this is a problem lots of faneditors run into, and one that can easily be excused and looked over as that's what the editor has to work with.

Overall a very enjoyable edit.
