blend mode premiere pro

I have a clip in premiere pro.
i added the black and white effect
i go to effects controls to change the blend mode
but it doesnt give me a drop down to change blend modes.

Not sure what version you're using, but on mine, B&W doesn't have a blend option. It's basically just desaturating the image without making you go into a Lumetri effect. I think if you still need to do blending options with that effect specifically, you could drop it into an adjustment layer about the clip and use the layer's opacity blend mode to compensate.
