This is a nice trim and compact edit of Spielberg's 'Duel'. It's been a long while since I last watched the movie, so I only really remember the good bits and at 47 minutes this edit seemed to have all those bits. I didn't notice anything missing technically, or narratively. If you want to watch 'Duel' but only have less than an hour to spare, this is the edit for you. It was also interesting to see this edit right after seeing 'Mad Max: Fury Road', as the two have a similar non-stop chase feel.

This edit is approved :).

A few thoughts of mine...I would probably have removed the brief internal-monolgue at 37.06, as it felt odd given the total lack of this narrative device in the rest of the edit. It might also have been fun to add a radically different score, which wouldn't have been to difficult given that 90% of the movie is music-free. I would also have included some credits, mentioning the cast and crew who originally created the film (It's just good form). The enocoding quality is excellent. That lovely 70s warm grainy picture is all there. However, a 7.5GB filesize is excessive for a 47minute edit IMO and might put some people off downloading this.

p.s. I notice that the original shorter TV cut of Duel is unavailable (As far as I can tell). It would be a cool project to recreate that using the Blu-Ray as a source (Hint! :p)

*Raises hand.* Yep, right here, I wouldn't download 7.5 GB for 47 minutes. At least, not for a fanedit.

Just saw and reviewed your edit, maniac51.
Enjoyed it very much.
As TMTYC noted, as Neglify noted, please consider reducing the filesize of this.
7.5 GB is too too big.
I believe many more people would view this if you rendered it to 4 GB or less.

I have a smaller version about of this edit (MKV)
The version on faneditinfo is the 7.5GB version (MP4) for the freaks who like the top quality.
For those who like the MKV version send me a PM if you can't wait because
in the meantime i shall contact faneditinfo to replace the big edit for the mkv.
When the mp4 is replaced, (I don't know when) i put the message in this thread

Oh, and by the way:

Thanks for the nice reviews;-)

Sounds great.
As long as 4.5 fits on a standard DVD-5 many folks will burn.

I made Battle in januari of this year.
The first workprint was a one hour cut, but finaly it was trimmed to 47 minutes.
When i put it on high definition MP4 and when i saw the final result, i was forgotten to put some credits on it
Shame on me,:-( because working the same time on other projects i was too busy to do something about it.
There was some request and also by the reviews to release a smaller filesize of Battle.
I delete friday the link of the MP4 and it will be replaced.

I send today a smaller file on faneditinfo of Battle, it's the same as the MP4 only this is an MPEG-TS file of 2.29GB
The MP4 version 7.56 GB is deleted.
In the future im gonna do a recut in dolby stereo i think, because at the moment i test some cuts in digital stereo.
I put the stereo track a little harder on this one but that is the only change i did on this file.
I was not satisfied with the converting to MKV so for now it's gonna be the MPEG-TS file

Battle is re-made and released
This version has some music overdub, credits and runs a little shorter then the first one.

Any way to find this?  I'm having a lot of trouble.  Not looking for a link, as I know that's forboden, just a tip. Thanks!
