Ahh good point. I didn't know that. But I checked and you're right. Those were Disney produced, they just licensed distribution to Netflix for a certain length of time.
Think he mainly meant in terms of physical media. Which some of the Marvel shows got........and even then just some of the seasons.Netflix Marvel stuff left Netflix.
I would love to own a physical copy of The Adam Project with special features and deleted scenes, etc.Netflix Marvel stuff left Netflix.
…as did so called Netflix Trek…which turned out to be just branding it Netflix… Paramount took it back...Turned out there was some production contribution but a messy arrangementNetflix Marvel stuff left Netflix.
This is the really sinister part of this huge move to streaming IMO. And I think companies are really only on the verge of realising how much power they have to alter works without consequences from (or knowledge of) the creators.Another big problem is that the companies can change and/or censor their movies and shows as they please and you can't get your hands on the original version if it ever gets a physical release (not legally anyway).
Know Tubi has a bunch of the old 80's-90's films on there but there is a lack of 50's-60's films sadly. Also sort of on the subject of this thread... as somebody who has been trying to watch their way through loads of old classics movies, all the streamers serve this niche extremely poorly, they seem to focus 90% of their libraries towards new stuff. It's going to become next to impossible, or expensive to watch old movies (that aren't blockbusters) in future.
Last I checked, BritBox has the Sharpe movies. Not sure about the come back movies, though.I own all the original run of 14x Sharpe movies 93-97 on blu-ray (they look amazing in HD by the way) but I've never owned the two 2006/2008 "come back" movies because I didn't like them that much. But as I'm doing a rewatch I thought I'd finally buy them, see them again and maybe do some fanediting on them. Turns out they are now out-of-print and cost a fortune. These things used to be bargain bin fodder. Even if I did only just want to watch them once, I'd have to psychically know which streamer currently has them .
I just had a look on CEX website, they have the blu rays of Sharpe's Peril for £6 and Sharpe's Challenge for £18, trouble with pre-owned is you never know what condition the discs will be in.
