Apologies if this is the wrong section for this, so please move if needed.

More a curiosity than anything, how does one become an Academy Member (and I guess higher status than Faneditor?). I'm not asking for myself at this time, more curious as to how it all works.

I think it's a matter of just asking a mod, and they'll determine if you're worthy (mostly active and through in reviews). That's what I've gathered from the one time I asked to join the academy.
 
If somebody wants to join the Academy then simply PM me, or another member of the admin staff and we'll consider it.

There are no specific criteria. We're looking for members that have a track record of things like: making technically proficient edits, participating in the community, helping other members with feedback and ideas, writing constructive reviews etc.

I have actually considered about asking myself and I actually have asked a few members of staff before if I would be in the right area of skill to join.
However I'd be worried to officially ask if I could as I think that would be counted as spamming as It wasnt too long ago I got some advice from @"lapis molari" to better my chance at becoming one. However I gained the courage to officially ask you :)
