ok im a newbie..is there a simple easy and actuall possible way to make standard 2.0 become srround sound or 5.1......i know theres diff knids of bigger sounding audio......srry if im not wording it right...hopefully i made my point

I would just not do it. 2.0 will never become true surround, and it will sound weird. For people with regular stereo setups, it will screw up a perfectly good mix, and for people with 5.1 setups, it will still not sound like true surround.

I entirely agree with theslime; however, many editors do upmix 2.0 to 5.1. It is possible that someone might need to upmix a small section of 2.0 audio to fit in with a 5.1 sound track e.g. when a deleted scene without 5.1 is integrated.
