I still consider it the best fanedit of all time. But that may be subjective. I'm much more of a Twin Peaks fan than I ever will be a Star Wars, Hobbit, or Harry Potter fan. That knocks a lot of contenders out of the top spot.
That being said, i do enjoy and give major respect to excellent edits that are awesome in their own right.
SplitUnbreakableGlass is such an edit. The narrative restructuring and sublime editing that went into that is unbelievable. I didn't even care for the movies its based on, but I love it. Wraith really went all out.
American Gangster Two Tales is another. I do like gangster movies...but L8wrtr took a really good movie and restructured it into an amazing movie that has a completely more enjoyable vibe.
Another worthy of mention is Spence's latest revision. Mission Impossible 2. I have a love/hate relationship with that series of movies. My first complaint is Tom Cruise. He tries too hard to be every hero. I liked all of the movies to some degree, but I loved the third...not because of Cruise, but because of Phillip Seymour Hoffman (huge loss
). However, in the workprint I watched, Spence has changed the music and a few other things that have made it tremendously better. It truly feels like one of the better Bond movies now.
That's just a few examples...
Oh...and The upcoming fanedit from The Butcher, Halloween Returns...
It's awesome! Scariest/creepiest Halloween movie or edit that I've seen since I saw the original 1978 classic as a kid. Thats saying something...because I was a kid. Halloween fans better hope that gets approved or he starts sharing it again. If not...you are missing out.
