^ That is a pretty fantastic trailer. Looks like it's on the awesome side of cheesy.
Saw a couple films back around Groundhog Day!
Source Code (2011)
Inspiration for Captain America in Avengers: Endgame? The whole explanation of "short term memory lasts 8 minutes" in this is complete BS, and I have no idea how
... but... hey, it's fun! Full review here: https://letterboxd.com/nottheacademy/film/source-code/
Happy Death Day (2017)
One of my old favorite comic book writers, Scott Lobdell, turns in a pretty clever script for this film which shouldn't really be called a Horror flick. My favorite part was seeing the increasingly different reactions Jessica Rothe gives as she gradually realizes the nature of her situation. Also checked out Iron Fists & Kung Fu Kicks (2019) on Netflix.
(This trailer is not cut any differently... the whole movie is like this!)
This documentary about martial arts in cinema should’ve been a slam dunk for me, but I couldn’t get through it. Within 5 minutes, I started scanning through to see if it would stay the same…it did. Director Serge Ou is an Aussie TV director who seriously has a cut almost every single second of this thing except for the 5-10 second clips of someone speaking. His talking heads try to tell about the beauty of martial arts as a kind of choreographed dance, of the athleticism on display in the actors’ movements…but you can’t see any of that because it cuts away too quick! Maybe somebody with ADHD would like this, but it’s far inferior to docs like The Deadliest Art, The Curse of the Dragon, Top Fighter, or Kung Fu Killers.
