The film really centers around catwoman and especially penguin, who both have fuller arcs (penguin has more screen time I believe);, Burton was likely more interested in the "freak"/outsider angle the penguin embodied, like he does in most of his stuff. 2.5 is not bad, it's ok! But as I said, I'm ready to move on. At this point I'm more concerned how anyone could possibly give Batman Returns a mere 2.5/5. I think it's even better than Batman 89.
