Hi there again. I did a Fan Edit about Man of Steel, but it has not been accepted yet, so let's move with my next Fan Edit. I Called it The Amazing Spider-Man: The Organic Eggs Edition. It's my version of the movie where I try to restore all the deleted scenes (except that one where Peter and Gwen are on a clock tower) but at the same time try to fix some little issues i found on the film.

So, what are the differences between the original and my version?

-No Rodrigo Guevara on Oscorp because I felt it was kinda silly. So anyone can claim to be someone and they give it a pass, but the real person arrives and then is expelled of the building?

-The scene of the spider bite occurs this time on the Spider room

-The origin story was changed a little bit. I wanted to make it seem like the reason for Peter to become Spider-Man is because got marked by the words of his uncle: "if you could do something good for other people, you have the moral obligation to do it". I cut the search for Uncle Ben's Killer because in the original they just drop the quest and there is no resolution or anything that makes you believe that Peter evolutioned and think that he can do something better with his powers instead of searching vengeance. They just forget about the Killer.

-Less cheesy dialogue between Gwen and Peter. I Cut the "we could... or we could...", the "i've been bitten" part and the "you are a good kisser part".

-I Cut the part where they go to swing in the city after Peter comes back to Gwen house injured. I thought it was out of place

-Flash is not friend of Peter at the end

-Peter going to sewers because of the reward of the Bugle has been cut. I put it like he goes down because he wants to investigate.

-All the deleted scenes were restored, inclunding the "doorman" scene, the "point of view" Spider-Man from the trailer and all the scenes with the Lizard and Peter. This helps a lot to the character development in the villain and you can see his evolution from a well intentioned man to another one that wants Power. Also, it helps to build the relationship between Peter and Connors.

Anyways, the movie is already done and uploaded. It has hard coded subtitles, but don't worry people, i'm uploading the movie without subtitles right now. If you are interested, PM me and I will give you the link to download. Hope I can get your support :)

PS: I tried to work the best i could the green effects that are not rendered in the deleted scenes. I'm not an especialist on CGI and those things, but anyways, hope this works. I think it does not look that bad.

UPDATE: The movie has been uploaded now without hard coded subtitles. So, if you want me to give you the link to download the movie, i will be pleased to do it :)

Well well well, looks like I've got some competition...

I said the same when i posted this. Didn't know you were working on Spider-Man too xD. Anyways, let me tell you that i did not copy from you or anything. My version is already up, so if you wish to watch it, you know what you have to do :)

Colour me interested. Will look into it

However, I would recommend not putting the download link in the description of your trailer if you want this approved on the site. This community thrives due to how careful we are about tip-toeing around copyrights and if this option is traced back here there will be consequences that will harm all of us working hard on our edits, if you want people interested, PM them the link.

I'm worried now that my fanedit won't be the favorite ._.

This is really something you need not concern yourself with. Edit for yourself, don't worry about which will be the bestest and most loved. The effort and care you put into your own fanedit will determine how it's received.

Guys, the movie has been uploaded without hard coded subtitles now. If anyone is interested, i could give you the link to download it :)

Please PM a link, I would love to check it out.

Can I ask, is it in HD?

Of course it's HD. 720p to start. I will send you the link right now :)

Nah, I was just joking, I wasn't serious... Oh wait, you thought it was? I should edit it right away...

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

In my version I'm going to '"Incredible Hulkify' my origin, which means I will make the origin a brief opening. YAY I found a difference n our edits! This is great, their purpose won't be identical! Just similar.

So then users will either choose to skip the origin w/ deleted scenes put back in, or with the origin. Good.

A couple of things...

Sarcasm can be very difficult to read. And since your original post was quoted, there's no reason to make the edit. If it hadn't been quoted, I would have restored your post. One of my pet peeves is when people edit their posts and just make things more confusing for those reading the entire conversation. Next time, just say whoops and move on.

Yes, I can see that :D. In fact, there was someone that suggested to "Nolanize" the movie. With the origin told as flashbacks between scenes in present and past. I don't think it might work as well but the idea is interesting. Not every movie works with Nolan Style :)

I don't know if I suggested it at first, but I think it's a viable idea in cutting some fat of the story and reducing stuff that already works (like Gwen and Peter already liking each other, which is boring), as well as punctuating some emotional beats (I'll get into this more when I review your edit).

Whoops. *moves on

But seriously, sorry for posting that. Let's just move on now and forget that happened.

Hi again People. Some of you asked for the link to download the movie. There were some error when i gave you the link, but now it works perfectly. Now you can see the movie without problems with the file. Again, if you want to see the movie, you tell me :)

I apologize for this taking so long to write about. I actually saw this a week ago today, but I just never got around to it until now.

I appreciate the removal of the intern as well as frivolous dialogue between Peter and Gwen (I only noticed the former), and the lighting between Peter stumbling on the spiders and the actual spider bite are similar enough to remove even more frivolous dialogue between Peter and Gwen (I really feel bad for dumping on the dialogue, 'cause it's a lot of what Emma Stone does and I feel bad for her for character having no real motivation in the movie). I didn't mind adding the POV swinging back in, but I feel you'd have to cut any other time he's swinging (except for the chains), especially that moment where he swings into an empty outside diner, even though food is on the table and there are cars parked outside! Also, mucho gracias for cutting Flash being friends with Peter at the end (I doubt people would want to be friends with you after you humiliated them). Incidentally, appreciated the subtitles. I took spanish for 3 years of high school, and it was fun trying to discern words from memory. Cutting Peter going into the sewers because of the bugle was also good. Getting rid of the opportunistic aspect makes him less unlikeable.

There's a lot of ideas here that I like, but feel weren't executed properly. For example, the montage that played over the alternate "Lizard decides to go after Peter" scene is a good idea for covering up the wire claws (first time I saw that scene, I joked that Conners was going to usurp Freddy Kreuger as nightmare king as well as being a giant lizard), and while I like moments like the first time the arm grows back when he says that he's beautiful, but I didn't like the dissolve cuts. Would've preferred hard cuts to between images, Nolan style. Shame the scene itself was never complete (btw, you can see a bit of wire at an hour, 34 minutes and 35 secconds), especially since it's better than poorly ripping off the first movie's Goblin argument (they couldn't even make it an argument in this version, they just agree with each other!).

The second thing I like in theory is changing Peter's motivation for crime fighting back to wanting to make Uncle Ben proud. Thing is though, you also use the deleted scene of Conners showing Peter the regenerated Freddie and telling him to build his own bridges. Thing is, that scene (and I never thought I'd say this about ASM) is really good, but it doesn't gel with later scenes where Peter is acting like an angry teen lashing out at criminals, and it also makes Captain Stacey's chewing out of him feel redundant.

This goes back to what I said earlier about trying to Nolanize the film more (which I'm normally against, but the film is so drab, dreary, serious and "DARKNESS! NO PARENTS (OR UNCLE)!" that making it more like a Nolan production feels appropriate). Like, when Peter is saving the kid on the bridge, that would be a good time to intersperse Ben's responsibility monologue followed by Peter being immature as well as Conners telling him the world's not coming to an end. Once that's done and the Amazing Crane Dad asks him for his name, replying with "Spider-Man" feels more meaningful and not just a case of "we're-having-the-protagonist-say-his-name-once-because-we're-ashamed-at-how-silly-the-source-material-is"-itis. At that point, he should also tone down on the quipping, especially against the Lizard, since Peter would not make fun of a man he just befriended who has great ties to his past as well as being one of the many daddy figures to Peter in the movie.

Another benefit of Nolan flashback is that you can really speed the story up. For example, you can go from Ben telling Peter that he looks just like his father with his glasses (though, why would Peter put on a pair of glasses that are not prescribed to him and continue to wear them?), to being at Conners lab, with Conners looking at Peter, the cut to the two of them at Conners house. You can also make it feel like Peter and Gwen hooked up immediately at school and cut even MORE frivolous dialogue.

As for things that either didn't work or needed to be cut, there's a massive continuity error of Peter having his backpack on him before fighting the Lizard on the bridge, even though he left without getting his backpack from Gwen's room. Also, cutting from Peter and Lizard in the bathroom to the underground lab is a bit much of a jump, especially since you have Peter calling on Gwen to make a serum only to flip flop one second later. Also, please tone down crane scene. I get what Masirimso said about it showing the support the city has for Spidey, but given most of the tone the film has had, it does not earn that kind of ernestness. If it were just the Amazing Crane Dad lending his help, that would be decent enough. Lastly, cutting out Captain Stacey's last words of having Peter promise to leave Gwen alone would greatly appreciated, that way the promise Peter makes is more to himself, and it's slightly more justified if he breaks it.

I only recommend the film to people who do like the film and not anyone didn't as there's some stuff in there (like an even MORE wasted Sally Fields, the fact that Peter is written like a nerd but looks like a jock) can fix.

One thing I forgot to mention. I am very ambivalent about the last deleted scene where Peter is helping Aunt May around the house. While it is nice to actually act like a decent human being, it also makes Aunt May come across like she doesn't know his secret, which is stupid, even if the next film seems to be going in that direction.

I always wondered if The Lizard could work in the film if all his dialogue were removed. Would it possibly make him seem more menacing?
