This is almost as magical as watching a working lightsaber being made...Andrew Ainsworth, who created the original helmets in 1976 for ANH, makes a new one from start to finish. No CGI will ever be this cool:

That guy has his own site now, and he's permitted to sell his own product now as well, but there was a small catch.
He's not allowed to sell to US customers (or something along the lines -- can't fully remember).

Yes, it was a British court where he won his case. Even though his work is based on McQuarrie's designs, the British courts ruled that he owns the rights in the UK. Never read the court's justification for the ruling, but LFL threw everything they had at that case, it was pretty big. I was surprised it went his way to be honest, from what I had seen, it seemed fairly obvious he didn't create the design himself, it's obviously based on McQuarrie's work, but who knows.

Also, I might know where to get that 3-panel view of 4,5,6. Anyone can PM me if interested. It's really insane to watch and could induce siezures, but fascinating to watch how each movie develops, hit's plot points etc... compared to each other.

Wookiegroomer did a project where all 6 films run on one screen with each other. He called it "Addicted to Star Wars." I authored a v2 of the DVD based on his 1080p file.

I'm not a fan of it - it just *feels* like a deleted scene...although that might be partly because I know it is one.

I agree with Frink. It's interesting to see, of course, but I think it is cringeworthy.

Topless Robot recently ran a contest were readers could submit their ideas as to what changes/edits Lucas will eventually make to the next installments of the Special Editions. A lot of great entries were submitted, but this one made me especially laugh and shows just how untrue and downright stupid Lucas's claim that Leia was "always intended" to be Lukes twin really is:

Yoda: Told you I did. Reckless is he. Now things are worse.
Obi-Wan: That boy is our last hope.
Yoda: No there is another
Obi-Wan: You mean Leah? She is trapped with Darth Vader. In fact you said that Luke should sacrifice her life to honor what she stood for.
Yoda: Bitch of a son!
:p

Ditto. That was editing well done, back when Lucas let other people direct and edit his scripts.
