Intention: I'm a fan of most stuff that Denzel Washington does. I was looking forward to this movie (despite the horrible marketing - ruining the surprise in the trailer! While I did enjoy the movie I felt that it dragged in places and was a bit too long. I didn't like the ending very much. It was corny IMO. My intention with this edit was to make the movie a bit faster paced and to change the ending.

Changes Made:
1)
The biggest change that I made was completely removing the character of Nicole and her relationship with Whip.

2) Changed the ending.

This is another great Gatos fanedit. I enjoyed Flight for Denzel's performance but it wasn't that great as a film. With this edit the cliched romance subplot and the sloppy ending are gone. What's left is an emotional story of an alcoholic.

Invisible editing. If I hadn't seen Flight before I wouldn't have known this was a fanedited version.

Highly recommended. A great example of "less is more" storytelling.

A/V Quality: 9/10
Visual Editing: 10/10
Audio Editing: 10/10
Narrative: 10/10
Enjoyment: 9/10

Recommend? YES

This is a great, simple, effective edit. It improves on the original significantly. Unfortunately, what you're left with is still just an average film. This is certainly no fault of the editor, who did a great job with what was available. Recommended for people who were disappointed with the original film.

Repost of IFDB Review:

This was a very well done edit, it trimmed a lot of the fat and gave the movie a much better pacing. The ending is better than the original, but still leaves something to be desired. But this is no fault to Gatos as he chose the best place you could end the movie. But in the end I still end up asking myself what is the point of the movie. It just seemed pointless and phoned in. But once again this is not the editor's fault. He turned a movie i would rate as a 6 into a solid 8. So much kudos to you sir. There were only 2 places i could tell something was removed but still not jarring or distracting.
