Can't wait for this, I always loved the Alternative Edition as I found the theatrical cut almost unwatchable.

Any chance you could supply a few more technical details, are there many differences between the Alt Ed and Redux, will this be available in HD/AVCHD?

The anticipation grows...

Re. differences between versions, I've published a full changelist which compares Redux to the original source material. I didn't want to over-complicate things with comparsions between my three fanedit versions. Full changelist is on Page 1 of the Forums thread at http://www.fanedit.org/forums/showthread.php?6731-Dune-The-Alternative-Edition-Redux. If you've seen The Alt Edition V.2 then you should easily spot the most of the differences.

Re. a high def version, none is planned at this stage because hi def footage of the extra 40 minutes in the Extended Edition is not available. I understand the recent German Bluray "Extended Edition" is not the extended "Alan Smithee" version at all, which is very dodgy marketing and advertising IMHO.

Ah, there I was thinking all the materal was now out in HD, like you say, dodgy advertising...
