Looks like Picard may be returning to the stars.

Yes, please, to more Patrick Stewart; no, thanks, to animation.

Stewart is too old now IMO, unless they are going to do a sequel to 'All Good Things' and save on the age makeup ;) . Plus would we not prefer some new Trek with new characters instead of reusing the old ones all the time? If it's just a guest role as an old Admiral Picard passing the torch to a new crew then I'm on board with that.

^ Oh, I agree he's too old to still be Captain - but, after its entire history and my whole lifetime, I'm tired of Star Trek being nothing but stories of starships and their crews. A miniseries seems like a perfect opportunity to do a story about Admiral/Professor/archeologist/civilian Picard's final adventure, or something. And I totally want him to be dating Dina Meyer's Donatra. :D

Update on the DS9 documentary....

Star Trek....the musical?

How did I never hear about this?

Pretty entertaining stuff!  :D

And in other news, Big Finish (the audio company best known for creating hundreds of Doctor Who audio plays) are stepping into the world of Star Trek: https://www.bigfinish.com/news/v/star-trek-prometheus

Oh, this is a little disappointing. I thought it was going to be a full cast dramatization of the novels but it's just an audiobook.

if DS9 felt smaller than B5, that is because it was significantly smaller.

Yeah it's waaaay smaller but what I meant was B5 "felt" the size that it was supposed to be but DS9 felt smaller than the ships that docked with it, until you were occasionally shown it wasn't.

The actually inhabited parts of the station really are about the same size as a Galaxy class starship. The Enterprise D looks to be slightly smaller than the middle part of DS9 and it's crew is 1,000 people. If DS9's crew is 300-2,000 with a max capacity of 7,000 that all seems about right.

That can always change in the future.

With how expensive the Star Trek license is, I'm sure this is a way for Big Finish to test the waters before going full cast audio.  They've done similar before and they produce some great stuff, so it could be a great location for fans who want more classic Trek.

Finally! Something set after Voyager!

And Nemesis? :p

Anyhow, I'm very interested to see where this goes. Fun fact: at present, Stewart's run as Charles Xavier (2000-2017) has spanned more years than his run as Picard (1987-2002). So, as much as I love his Professor X, it's good to know JLP will be re-taking his rightful place in Sir Patrick's career.

I pay so much money for cable, Netflix, and Amazon...why would I pay more for yet another service just to watch one show?

I was very interested in Con Man until I learned I could only watch it by paying Vimeo per episode.  Took a pass.  Luckily it came to Sci-Fi Channel eventually.  Hopefully this will end up somewhere else at some point.

I'm so happy about this!!

Hopefully this will be a batter 'bon voyage' than Nemesis!! And who wants to bet Mr Frakes will direct?
