If you are going to flag my post for merely meantioning the word (redacted) shouldn’t this post get flagged too?  This is clearly a (redacted) post.

1) The staff are not a hive-mind.  TM2YC did not "flag" your post, I did.  We discuss a lot of things but it was a minor issue that needed no discussion.

2) They are discussing the politics of a movie that won Best Picture, and the Academy politics of a competing movie not winning.  You made an open-ended complaint about "the politics that occurred at last year's Oscars" which is not a movie discussion, it's a politics discussion.  I'm sorry if you don't see the distinction, but it exists nevertheless.

I never said TM2YC flagged my post nor did I intend imply such.

You are correct I don’t see the distinction.

You quoted TM2YC and said "If you are going to flag my post."  That means you are talking to him.  If you are talking to me, call me by name or quote me, not someone else.  That is how forums work.

And I know you don't see the distinction.  I also know you never will, so there's no further discussion necessary.

Actually, I didn't quote TM2YC, I quoted Neglify's post, and Neglify had quoted TM2YC.   I quoted his post because I was referring to it in my post.

Dialogue free short animation about a child splitting their time between two separated parents. A real kids-eye view of how to process such a confusing situation.

Weekends is great, far better than that Pixar treacle Bao. Oddly, three of the nominated animated shorts were wordless Asian-American family/childhood dramas, two of which took place in Seattle, and two of which featured children growing up and leaving home. Seems like a lot of overlap...

- Detainment
- Madre
- Skin

...and 'Detainment' has proved so controversial that I doubt it will be screening anytime soon.

Saw all three in a theater screening. Detainment is powerful, and entirely convincingly acted by the kids. Skin is a modern-day Roald Dahl fable, and quite good. Madre is an interesting enough scene, but only tells a half-story, which I find annoying. Just because you're making a short film doesn't mean you can't pack a beginning, middle, and end into a quarter hour or less.

Ok I see that now, you're correct.  With that said Neglify is not a staff member, and TM2YC is, and TM2YC is the only staff member in the quote chain, so that's why I assumed you were talking to him.  My point about referring to someone by name if you aren't quoting them stands.

And with that said, we've both said more than enough at this point.  Let's move on.

My daughters were overjoyed because they had actually seen it so it was neat for them to have something they saw win.  With that said, I thought it was cute, but not Oscar-worthy.

Yeah I don't know what that is supposed to mean.  I don't think it's a "I've moved on" emoji though.  Maybe you should see a doctor.
