They'll broadcast it live here in Belgium, but it's in the middle of the freaking night! And it lasts hours! Really want to see it for once :(

Having seen all the Best Picture Nominees, as well as a good amount of other nominated films, here are my predicts and personal picks (Top Categories). EDIT: Let's see how I did...

Best Supporting Actor.
Predict: Christopher Plummer, Beginners
Pick: Nick Nolte, Warrior
Result: Christopher Plummer, Beginners

Best Supporting Actress.
Predict: Octavia Spencer, The Help
Pick: Berenice Bejo, The Artist
Result: Octavia Spencer, The Help

Best Original Screenplay.
Predict: Woody Allen, Midnight in Paris (Michael Hazanavicius, The Artist as a possible surprise win.)
Pick: Woody Allen, Midnight in Paris
Result: Woody Allen, Midnight in Paris

Best Adapted Screenplay.
Predict: Nat Faxon, Jim Rash and Alexander Payne, The Descendants (if this happens, then the show Community will have an Oscar Winner in their core cast!)
Pick: Aaron Sorkin, Steve Zaillian and Stan Chervin, Moneyball
Result: Nat Faxon, Jim Rash and Alexander Payne, The Descendants

Best Actor.
Predict: Jean Dujardin, The Artist. Or George Clooney, The Descendants. (This is the hardest one for me.)
Pick: Jean Dujardin, The Artist.
Result: Jean Dujardin, The Artist

Best Actress.
Predict: Viola Davis, The Help.
Pick: Meryl Streep, The Iron Lady.
Result: Meryl Streep, The Iron Lady

Best Director.
Predict: Michael Hazanavicius, The Artist
Pick: Terrence Malick, Tree of Life.
Result: Michael Hazanavicius, The Artist

Best Picture.
Predict: The Artist.
Pick: Tree of Life. (So close to picking The Artist, but Tree of Life blew my mind and still affects me when I rewatch it. And I've only watched The Artist once... so far.)
Result: The Artist

Damn. 7 out 8 is pretty good! And the one predict I got wrong was my personal pick. Neg FTW.

There's also the fact that Drive wasn't nominated for Best Picture, Ryan Gosling wasn't nominated for Best Actor, and Albert Brooks didn't WIN Best Supporting Actor.

THIS^

In the end, I correctly predicted 18/24.

Good year on the whole for the Academy, but I feel like there was one award that pushed me the wrong way: Best Actress. My beef isn't with Streep, it's with the movie, The Iron Lady. Now, mind you, I haven't seen it. But from what it seems like to me, the movie was made with the sole purpose of getting Streep an Oscar. Now, if she really deserved it, okay. But part of me feels like the Academy shouldn't be encouraging these types of Oscar bait movies. They dodged the same bullet by not giving Leonardo DiCaprio a nod (I actually saw J. Edgar and liked it, but most didn't) but they couldn't seem to get it right at all with Best Actress. I personally would have gone with Rooney Mara, though I feel the frontrunner, Viola Davis, also deserved it.

Anyways, it's nice to see them picking the best picture for Best Picture.

I predicted all of them correctly. The Oscars are so rigged and predictable.
