Thought this would be worth noting, since so many of us use at least one Adobe product as part of our workflow: Adobe has released version CS 5.5 of their Master Collection (AE, PS, Premiere, etc.).

Some of the new features sound pretty cool, as for example the motion stabilizer and new motion blur options in AE. creativecow.net and ae.tutsplus.com both have reviews of the new features that are well worth checking out.

One last point: if I'm reading the terms correctly, if you have a student or educator proof of ID (as I do), then you'll be eligible for up to an 80% discount. Still too rich for my blood at the moment, but perhaps down the line...
 
Dang. I wonder who will make the first 3-D fanedit.
 
oh darn. I recently puchased CS5 for work. The university discount is pretty awesome. Would have been good to get the .5 upgrade.
 
Is they a cs5 for after effects on a 32 bit system?
 
no as of CS5, after effects only works on 64 bit systems
