The Walking Dead

We are definitely spending at least the next 2 seasons in the prison. and i am alright with that. it is by far the best part in the comics with some crazy shit going on and with many interesting new characters coming. if they can pull this properly season 3 will blow our minds

The whole Governor scenario is gonna be EPIC!

New season starts tomorrow!!! Saw the extended trailer they aired today!!!

I cant fucking wait. Looks to be an action packed season!

If you've read the comics you will know season 3 is gonna be a hell of a ride. And it's only 4 days til #103 comes out as well, nice.

Unfortunately I don't get AMC (it's only available in our cable companies $80+ package, far too expensive for me). Fortunately, the show is available the next on iTunes so I'll be seeing it then. :)

Now if only FX would do the same with American Horror Story...

Is the govenor by chance the guy who runs the super tight city with a strict community (kinda like the others in lost, but maybe even running a tighter ship) I think Episode 4 of the game may have referenced the same place. But I've only watched the 2 seasons and not read the comics, but that's on my to do list, I bought the compendium paperback that collects issues 1-38... gonna be an epic reading at some point, and slightly cooler is the fact that compendium 2 is released later this month... but then I'll have a slower wait for future collections.

Yes... that's the governor. I've read the graphic novels through book six, I think. Curious to see how they handle certain... things... that happen to our group.

You will know when the Governor arrives. I've not played the game yet and won't be till all the episodes are out, so I can't comment if the super tight community is the same as the one the Governor runs.

If they follow the comic arc for this bit the season finale is gonna blow you away.

I dont think the prison arc will end with this season though. i remember reading an interview somewhere that they said the prison arc is 2 seasons worth of material. Still from what i know from the comics.... Damn i am exited!

No. The community in the comics (and presumably the show) is not the same as the game.

Yes the prison arc will last 2 seasons. If you know the comics I think we know how that'll break down. and yes, super pumped for the run.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Walking Dead is Back! What a fuckin' awesome way to start the season! a really fast and well paced episode with many zombie kills, some nice silent moments and some big shit happening. Loved it!
Lori feels much nicer and tolerable now, Carl is turning like his comic version (awesome!). I really liked the silent intro of the episode. It told us everything we needed to know without saying a word. Great stuff! I also liked how the were securing the prison methodically and in parts. And with Hershel Damn! He wasn't the person that happens this in the comics and i was actually surprised when it happened. Great Stuff! Keep them coming!

Can't agree with you more, was a really good fast paced first episode, seemed to be an eternity waiting for series 3 to start!
I now have an excuse to watch the TV again!

WD goes from strength to strength. The opener on this season makes up a lot for 'talkin on the farm'. Felt really well made and scripted - budget seems to be up and characters have grown. Given it is getting record ratings, TWD could just go on and on.

Only thing that bothers me is give it another 4/5 seasons and we'll be caught up to the comic and then where do they go?

Outer space.

Down the filler route like a bad anime, we'll be getting zombie postmen, and missions that entail escorting spoiled princesses, and some super secret organisation that have never been mentioned in any form before from the secluded mountain city or some such.

Or they'll have common sense and end it when it needs to be ended.

I think WD is in great danger of not going down this route.

The ratings are historic and only getting better. So is the quality of the show. Unfortunately, this won't last long. Neither will the ratings, but they're so good right now that, come, say season 7, if they're considerably less than they are now, they will still be one of the highest rated shows on cable. But there's only so much you can do with a single cast of characters in the apocalypse.

I have a feeling they're at their peak this season. It can, unfortunately, only go down hill from there.

Jesus.

T-Dog buys it, Lori dies? No mercy this season. Funny enough, when Rick wouldn't let the two prisoners join them - I said to my friend "It's because they already have the quota of one token black man." Then T-Dog died. So prisoner black guy can now legit join. :|

Anyway - we didn't actually see Carl put the bullet in Lori's head - and we have seen this scenario many times before....
