I thought it would be cool to have a Top Ten Trilogy thread, here's mine:
1. The Lord of the Rings
2. Bourne
3. Toy Story
4. Star Wars
5. The Godfather
6. Indiana Jones
7. The Dollars Trilogy
8. Back to the Future
9. Mad Max
10. Evil Dead

That's mine for the moment

I'd say that, if you remove the third, the "1-2-4" Rambo trilogy is Great too.

Do Star Wars and Indy really still count as trilogies these days?

what other trilogies did not make the top ten? I mean which trilogy is number 20? or 30?
it's a weird top ten when you can't think of any more than ten trilogies! At least I can't! :(

Simpsons Season 1-9...damn...double damn...

The Original Trilogy does, if you check the history records you'll find that ThrowgnCpr is absolutely right & that the Prequals don't actually exist. Along with that Indiana & The Kingdom of the Crystal Lesbians film.

I love the first film, actually after seeing Inception I now like it even more. But the sequals are just horrific.

1) LOTR
2) Indiana Jones
3) Back to the Future
4) Star Wars 4-6
5) Pirates of the Caribbean
6) Toy Story
7) Underworld
8) Matrix
9) Scream
10) The Godfather

1-5 are pretty much interchangeable depending on my preference at the moment

This looks like a cool thread to revive.

1. Indiana Jones (assuming we lose the fourth one. kiwf)
2. Star Wars Original Trilogy
3. The Terminator (the third one was meh, but the first two were so good that it kind of cancels out)
4. Toy Story
5. Die Hard
6. Back to the Future (yay for the first and second, eh for the third)
7. Bourne
8. Lord of the Rings (I'm not gonna lie. I don't like these movies as much as most people.)
9. Pirates of the Caribbean (third was kind of meh though)
10. X-Men (third was kind of eh)

Being the sacrilegious disgrace that I am, I have only seen the first Godfather, and therefore cannot rank it :-(

And once The Dark Knight Rises comes out, that trilogy would definitely be in my top ten.

Honorable mentions:
The Chronicles of Narnia (two stupid sequels)
Jurassic Park (second and third are too bleh)
The Matrix (a meh second and a bleh third)
Mission: Impossible (second was eh)
The Naked Gun
Spider-Man (a terrible, terrible third entry)

My Top 10 Trilogies with Zero "Meh" Entries, In Alphabetical Order:

Austin Powers
Bourne
Evil Dead
Lord of the Rings
Man With No Name
Mexico Trilogy (Robert Rodriguez)
Mighty Ducks (haters gonna hate...)
Pusher
Samurai Trilogy (Hiroshi Inagaki)
Star Wars OT

The Ducks movies are bomb to me. Yes, they are all the EXACT same formula. And sure, #1 is the best and the sequels pale in comparison. But they were such a big part of my childhood.

1. Lord of the Rings
2. Star Wars (the prequels don't count)
3. Pirates of the Caribbean (the fourth one doesn't count)
4. Back to the Future
5. Scream (the fourth one doesn't count)
6. Indiana Jones (the fourth one doesn't count)
7. The Bourne Trilogy (the upcoming fourth one doesn't count)
8. X-Men (First Class doesn't count)
9. The Matrix (the first one counts as three and the other two don't count)
10. The Godfather

Does the third one count? Because #4 is way way better than #3. And #3 can be deleted from the history books and it wouldn't affect #4.
