Here are some details on the OAVs:

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - The Laughing Man
Basically a 2:43 movie cut together from the first gig.
http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=3431

This is a compilation of Laughing Man related material from the first season of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex along with new footage and upgraded to theatrical film quality.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Individual Eleven
http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4290
2:20, same concept but the second gig.

Both of the above are pretty rare as far as I know. I did read somewhere that it MIGHT have been licensed outside of Japan, but who knows. Currently only fansubbed into Czech so most of us are out of luck for now.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society
Made for TV movie. Takes place following the events of the first and second gigs and are consistent with the tv 'universe' (not the theatrical movies.)
http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4414
A U.S. release is coming soon.

From TheDigitalBits.com:
Here's some better news at least: Anchor Bay has sent over the first details on Bandai's forthcoming DVD release of Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. - Solid State Society. The film will be released on DVD on 7/3 in two versions. There will be a Standard Edition (SRP $19.98) that includes the film in anamorphic widescreen video with both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 audio (English and Japanese with English subtitles), as well as the Uchikoma Days featurette, interviews with the English production team, a storyboard gallery and the trailer. There will also be a 3-disc Limited Edition (packaged in a "steel book" case) that includes everything on the standard edition along with 3 more featurettes (World Work File, Anime+Car Design: Designing the Future Car and Making of Tachikoma Robot), an interview with Mitsuhisa Ishikawa (of Production I.G) and the film's soundtrack on CD. We'll post cover art as soon as it's available.

Edit: Links updated to AniDB.net pages (couldn't find them before.) and a few other things (like fansub info and runtimes).

Here're some links for fans of the laughing man logo:

If you like the Laughing Man story arc, you can got to:
http://thelaughingman.net/
You can upload images that get "hacked", blocking all faces with the laughing man logo like in the show.

There's also the original designer of the logo, who sells t-shirts, mugs, etc. with the logo on it. I believe that's here:

I'm aware that the Laughing Man movie has had a DVD release (somewhere) and is floating around in an english subbed format on P2P.

Also, both Laughing Man and Individual Eleven are pre-ordering in the U.S. on Amazon.com with a Dec. 24 release date.

So now that both of the official movie-ified versions of the TV series are out, has anyone seen them?

I can't bring myself to see them. I just keep doing the math on how much plot has to have been cut out.

I dont know yet if it is good or bad thing to do such things.....

:-? :-(
Well, after seeing the comparision shots, now I glad that I didn't include this in my last YesASIA order.

Seriously, why the hell did they feel the need to redo the opening with Kusanagi in 3D???
It was absolutely perfect the way it was! :p
