Your editing program doesn't let you do audio fades or mute clips?  Bruh.

Mute, yes; fade, no.

Bruh. Even windows movie maker let's you crossfade audio.  (Actually for simple editing tasks of just cutting things out or trimming dialogue it's actually a viable program,  which is a dirty little secret.  If you're wanting to do your visual tweaks and editing in one single program though it's out the windows 8)

A note to mention is that it's not any good for anything over 10 minutes, as nothing is frame accurate and the guesswork gets to be too much.  It's good for home movies, but not for anything else.

I don't think OP can afford those.

Vegas Movie Studio is a good compromise though, haven't checked prices lately but you can get it for really cheap, especially older versions.  Under $50.

EDIT: Just checked Amazon and 13 is $35.

EDIT2: 11 (the version I'm still using until I finish my current edit and can crack open my copy of Pro) is under $22.

That's not bad. Vegas has its advantages. Price is certainly one of them.

I prefer Premiere because it is more versatile and very compatible with the entire Adobe suite.

I used to use cyberlink powerdirector.  I remember it doing everything I wanted it to.  I don't remember why i gave up on it.  The interface probably.

I doubt that's anywhere on the level of Premiere or Vegas though.

Actually, the ultimate version is not bad for fanediting. I know several people who use it.

I forgot about Pinnacle Pro. Its very nice, as well. Used that at the television station.

Corel is another affordable alternative.

Nothing comes close to Premiere for quality and versatility.

Of course it is. But I have used all of the others that I mentioned besides Cyberlink and Corel.

The correct term is 'bromanual'.

I thought that's what they call gay porn magazines.

No, that's homomanual.  A bromanual is similar, but they're just bros so it's platonic porn and therefore not actually gay.

I call myself an anti-capitalist, but I willingly purchase Coke or ask others in my family to purchase Coke for me, putting more coin in the coffers of greedy billionaire pigs while slowly poisoning my body. And for what? 'Cause it tastes good. Well, once my current stock of Coke's exhausted, there'll be no more of that. Big business needs to die and I need to inflict as many wounds as I can, even if they're only tiny scratches.

Comic artist/writer Neal Adams has expressed disbelief in plate tectonics and support of an expanding/hollow Earth hypothesis, which he put into comics in Batman: Odyssey I think.  Anyway, he tweeted today that he believes in Bigfoot, so I'm looking forward to Batman Meets Bigfoot.

Get a soda stream or flavor station or something like that, then get the recipe online for Open Cola. Make your own Soda.
