Sounds correct to me.
My old - now bygone - Sansui amp poured out amps and heat.
I associate the "loudness" switch with the era of vinyl.

I'm having a little dilemma and maybe you guys can help me solve it. I just checked the Disney Movie Rewards site and they've just added the "Princess And The Frog" Blu-Ray combo pack and the 4-disc (2 Blu-Ray, 1 DVD, 1 DVD digital copy) Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray combo pack to their reward list. I've currently got 2125 points and can only afford one of these. "The Princess And The Frog" one is 1500 points and the "Toy Story 3" one is 1750 points. I loved both these films, and "The Princess And The Frog" was a return to hand-drawn animation, which I'm a big fan of, but I'm on the fence as to which one of these I should get now and which one I should hold off on until I earn enough points. So, which one do you guys think I should jump on now and which one should I wait for?

Well the border on the slipcover for "The Princess And The Frog" is blue and the one for "Toy Story 3" is yellow, so are you saying I should go with "The Princess And The Frog"? :D

Toy Story 3 definitely.

Princess and the Frog no doubt.

Why do I feel like you're only saying that I should go with "The Princess And The Frog" cause Dom is saying I should go with "Toy Story 3"?

BTW, if anybody has any of those inserts with the Disney Movie Rewards codes that they haven't, and aren't going to, use then PM me a shot of the codes and that way you can help me make this decision a lot easier by allowing me get both.

After much deliberation I decided to go with "The Princess And The Frog" Blu-Ray combo pack. Order has been placed and hopefully it'll be shipped tomorrow so I can get it before Christmas. I managed to get some more points and am now sitting at 1235. Only 515 points to go and I can get the 4-disc Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray combo pack. Now I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't have ordered that official "Thor: The Dark World" poster a while ago cause I'd be able to grab both Blu-Ray combo packs. Ah wtf, it only cost me 550 points and it's a full-size, double sided, official theatrical poster.

Damn you Channel 4 News Team and 1 Direction for singing "Afternoon Delight" during the monologue on this past weekend's SNL. I still can't get that song out of my head. Every damn time I hear it it gets stuck there for like a week or so. And damn you SNL for not having the Channel 4 News Team do Weekend Update. You had Ron Burgundy, Ron Fantana, Champ Kind, and Brick Tamland in the building and instead of taking the opportunity to promote Anchorman 2 by having them do Weekend Update, which would have been awesome!, you relegated them to an out-of-character cameo during the monologue. For shame SNL, for shame!

AAAAA-aaaa-aaaa Afternoon delight!

Try it again in like a week. Or better yet, don't. :D I don't know why I can't get this song out of my head. Makes watching Anchorman a real decision maker. Do I want to watch a really awesome movie, or do I want to watch a really awesome movie and get a song stuck in my head for over a week. :D I must be a sucker for punishment cause the torture is worth it in this case. :D

Choosing individual Christmas cards for close family usually takes me far more time than choosing presents. This year's offerings sported either modern designs trying too hard to look different from last year's or otherwise-nice festive scenes ruined by too much glitter. As disappointing as the designs were, they were nowhere near as off-putting as the verbose, saccharine messages within, which, trying too hard to be heartfelt, ended up achieving the opposite in effusions of cloying sentiment.

When I explained the above to a friendly shop assistant, who was trying to help me, she declared: “Well, that's just what you have to do at Christmas.”

I replied that this was not so and that in previous years I had managed (after protracted searches that grow longer each year) to find cards with briefer, more-tasteful greetings.

At length, I settled on a couple: one with an aureate Christmas tree but a simple, restrained message within, and one with an image of children's singing carols, marred only by having A Special Message emblazoned garishly on the front. Surprisingly, given the precedents to hand, there was no such message within; and this gave me the space to write a sincere one of my own, which is always preferable.

Blank cards do exist, of course, but this year they were thin on the ground. And cards in packs, which are often better, leave me with multiple copies of the same designs and a feeling of having been wasteful – if, as is often the case, I see no prospect of using them the following year, when I am back to choosing cards.

We (and pretty much all of our family and friends) have starting using sites such as Shutterfly to create custom cards that allow us to use pictures of our kids, any message we want, and other easy-to-design features.

Having said that, I am super thankful for my wife, who takes care of the whole thing. I just have to help her with the envelopes (and some of the hand-written messages).
