Debbie alone garantees that I'll be seeing it. Even though the special effects look like cut scenes from a 10 year old videogame.

You don't need good special effects with a title/concept like that. Anyone who would watch it based on the title will watch it regardless of visual quality. Myself included.

Hahaha. Wonderful. "We're dealing with a menace" must be the understatement of the decade when you have a shark chomping away at the Golden Gate bridge.

Just finished watching this. It's just boring.

It had potential had it gone the serious cliched-filled disaster movie route but it's just very, very, horribly boring - start to finish. The cliched elements are there to be sure, and plentyful, but the severe lack of any passion from the actors in any of their line deliveries just makes it unenjoyable all the way thru. Nothing in fact is done in the conventions of the genre and it just annihilates any chance at any entertainment value it could have had.

Every special effects shot is in the trailer. Litterally. Not only that but they actually flip most of them horizontally to make us believe it's a different shot. Several times. With the same shot. The editing is godawful with flashes inserted randomly throughout the movie to make it more "dynamic". Stock footage of various beaches is also inserted randomly throughout for no apparent reason.

The movie had absolutely no budget and it shows. Distortions in sound, the same locations used for supposedly different parts of the globe, stills for some special effects... All this could have been effective had it been treated as a parody but the movie is really trying to hide its shortcomings instead of embrassing them and it really suffers from it.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this one at all costs.

3/10 or 5/10 if anybody ever decided to fanedit it and redo every single effects shots with hand puppets of a shark and an octopus instead, somehow include porn and feature Debbie Gibson's song "Only in my Dreams".

@blueyoda

Wow dude you sound pissed off! did you get your expectations up for this one or something?

you are aware that this movie was an ASYLUM production right? considering the film company its not awful. amazingly the acting is half competent (Debbie Gibson actually steals some scenes), the plot kinda works and the SFX are (taking into account budget) more than competent. i didnt notice any of the 'random' inserted stock footage you talk about though, it all made sense to me and was in the correct place. in fact i thought the editing wasnt that bad.

i dont think i would say boring, maybe disappointment for what it could/should have been but for what it was, it was ok.

i did find it funny that the control stick for the sub is blatantly a PC flight joystick though.

as a movie: 3/10
as a trashy B movie: 5/10
as an ASYLUM movie: 8/10

I don't care who produced it. I don't care how much budget it had. Junk is junk.

This could have been a "so bad it goes full circle back to good" movie but it's not.

I don't really have different ranking systems for movies depending on their budget, production companies or cast. I rate movies based on their entertainment value and this one failed miserably.

Glad you got a kick out of it, though. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

...screw it, I'm going to get it anyway just so I can have that title on my shelf.
Because it's an awesome title.

i never said i enjoyed it, my score as a movie was 3/10 which is hardly good although the whole shark/plane thing was hilariously awful. it just wasnt half as bad as you made out citing audio/video flaws of which there were none.
