The Mario movie. There was actually a sequel planned, and some people that worked on the film wrote a sequel comic that I've yet to read. I just think it'd be neat.

Two fans worked on a sequel webcomic, they weren't film crew. They "reached out" to one of the 10+ writers of the film and he "passed the torch" to them.

Okay, it was written by fans, but one of the writers did have involvement with it as well, beyond just passing the torch.

I don't know why that is important to you but it is inaccurate information, and not relevant to the thread.

It's the information that I found. It was relevant in my initial post to give background.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

The movie ends somewhat open ended, and there are many books in the series it was based on.

Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Great movie that kind of wasted it's time on an origin story when they should've dove right in, but a fun spy movie nonetheless.

Which one?  I was definitely hoping for a sequel to Legend of Tarzan

Could you imagine a live action Return of Jafar?  Man that would be awesome if they ever went ahead and did something like that!

Once upon a time I would've said Stargate. I still like the movie in spite of its flaws, and SG-1 deviates too much from the lore and tone of the film to serve as a proper continuation to me. But Independence Day: Resurgence's shown me the depths of stupid such a sequel could've dragged the franchise with Roland Emmerich at the reins.
