Apparently all other bears have been painted black.  And there's no going back.

Sorry for any inconvenience you may experience.

So if I understand you right, you're claiming that anyone who says there were non-black bears before today is just insane.

I dunno, I think my explanation is more plausible.

"Daddy, whatever happened to brown bears?"

"Well, honey, someone really liked black bears, so he did a fan edit of all the other bears."

You sound like a Polar Bear sympathizer.  Not sure I want that here.

strange fact: my first job in ecology involved trapping and tracking Black Bears we tagged with radio transmitters.

I got a lot of free donuts on that job...

No Polar Bear sympathizer here.  I can't even stand when the shower goes lukewarm.

Oddly, I recently heard about someone who hunts bears (black, I think), and big bags of day-old donuts are their favored bait.

yeah, the state wildlife agency I worked for at the time used culvert traps - big metal pipes that when the bears walk in and step on the trigger, the door behind them closes. We baited the traps with donuts. Usually day-old, but we befriended many of the local bakeries and they often threw in fresh treats.

"One for the bear, one for me..."

Wait, so donuts are made from Black Bear meat then?  How deep does this rabbit hole go?

No need to worry, Polar Bears have always been black. Their fur is clear but light makes them look white to our eyes. Google it.

So there's implications for rabbits now?  Where does the madness end?*

* Sure, I painted MY rabbit black, but that was for unrelated business reasons.

I did, and that's cool. I had no idea polar bears were in a peacock--like situation.

Thanks for teaching me something today!

At first, I assumed this was just another one of our forum's silly, surreal jokes. But then you said "Google it," so I did. And...wow! Cool thing to learn today!
