Can you name the game?

Could have bought a console outright nowadays with the money I shoved into this back in the day

Everyone reading this thread already lost it.

Is it cheating to use Google? Because I don't know this one.

Of course it is.

Lol not only did your image fail to load, the name of the game is what showed up instead (via the address).

Lode Runner!

(Would have know it anyway - spent way to much of my youth playing it on my Apple IIc)

Well if you would’ve given me a second to fix it....

In these things, that's always cheating. I tend to Google once I give up. As in, if I Google, I don't post a "guess".

This one looks like Probotector to me. But I'm American and familiar with Contra.

Yeah you’re an old fart like me. But I figured it would stump most here.

Not the most varied of games depsite the 'wowzer' graphics at the time

I know for sure that Frink's isn't Probotector. And alright, I won't Google it. I mean, I already did, but it came up with multiple different games, and I won't search for it further.

As for Sinbad's horsies, I got nothing. Some kind of chess?

I don't know that one but I accidentally know now from quoting it.  The point of me quoting it was just to say that for a moment I confused it with this one.

Yep, never even heard of that one.

The one I posted was a random arcade game I played at the 7-Eleven across the street from my high school on lunch in the late 80's.

Here's two more that fall into that same category.

Probotector is literally just Contra, but it's the European version, and the player characters are reskinned as robots for censorship.

Yep it was Shadowfax probably the best looking game on the VIC20 boring as hell though. The VIC20 was a real beast at the time with its whopping 3.5kilobytes of total memory.
