A thread for films that somehow you have never got round to watching before, for whatever reason.

I'm not a great fan of Westerns. I like 'High Noon' and 'Little Big Man', but neither are what I would consider 'true' Westerns. But this year I vow to finally watching The Man with No Name trilogy.

What's on your 2019 list?

The Man With No Name trilogy is on my list as well. I also need to finally see Meet the Feebles, George Romero's Martin, both Blade Runners (I've seen the first one a couple times, but never with my full attention), I need to get around to checking out Reign of Fire, and Repo the Genetic Opera, and Repoman, and 300, and Escape from New York, all the David Lynchs and John Carpenters and Guillermo Del Toros and Sam Raimis that I haven't seen yet, I still need to watch that Stranger Things show that all the kids are talking about, I need to check out more Uwe Boll films because I hate myself, I should check out the Resident Evil films to see if they're actually the best video game films, I've got to check out more ckasic film like Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, and all the silent films I've yet to watch like Metropolis and Nosferatu, and lastly I need to watch all the Universal monster films as well as the Hammer Draculas with Christopher Lee.

Schindler’s List and The Shining are my two top priorities. I can’t believe I haven’t seen them all the way through yet. I’m obviously slacking. Thoughts on The Revenant? I own it but have yet to watch it. Last but not least, I got a Hitchcock Blu-ray set for Christmas but I’ve really only watched half of them. Good thing I have the flu and will probably be bedridden for a few days.

I haven't seen Shining, Schindler's List, or The Revenant yet either, I should add those to my list.

I bought The Revenant back in 2016 when it was popular with the Leo Oscar buzz but I still haven’t seen it :D... I should watch it soon.

I think Spence's edit of the Revenant is a fantastic movie.

My college roommate was obsessed with Buckaroo Bonzai.  I've never seen the whole thing but I disliked what I saw.  But maybe because I disliked my college roommate.

That list I have however seen a ton of. In my very humble opinion, fast track The Thing. It’s a slow burn which I enjoy and the practical effects are astounding. I of course have a love for Halloween 2018 but that would hardly be a surprise to anyone that knows me here.  :)

I tried twice, once last year, to watch Once Upon a Time in America.  I can’t say I’ll try again in 2019.

Canon Editor, I'm intrigued by your inclusion of Fellowship of the Ring but not the other Lord of the Rings films. Does that mean you've seen the others but not the first, or that you're dipping your toe into the series with the first to see if you want to continue?

I've crossed one off my list now. "Sucker Free City" (2004) directed by Spike Lee.

I've been meaning to watch this for almost 10 years now. A Spike Lee joint set in my hometown, San Francisco, that focuses on crime in the Hunter's Point and Chinatown neighborhoods. This was filmed as a two-part pilot but Showtime didn't pick up the show so they aired it as a one-off TV movie. The story and characters are interesting, overall I enjoyed this, it's just that the problem with it is it feels incomplete. It's not a regular beginning-middle-end film, it sets up plot lines and supporting characters and then it ends. This could have been a cool show but sadly it's only a taste of what could have been.
