Are you referring to the film Crash from 1996, or going off of my joke about Crash Bandicoot, which also came out in 1996?

The film.

If you want to call it that.

This is the second time I've mentioned a film and you've brought up the question of if it's really considered a film. Obviously it's an exaggeration, a joke of sorts, but playing along with this, what would you consider it if not a film? And how would you define a film?

Yeah an exaggeration.  It's a film.  But a thoroughly ridiculous one.

I remember a while back I wouldn't ever call a movie shot with digital cameras a "film."  What a pretentious dork I was.

Yes, yes it is. Crisp Rat is his funny way of spelling Chris Pratt.

Ha! Okay, yeah my dad is 83 and doesn’t even know what Twitter is, let alone Chris Pratt. I’m guessing there’s a chance your father is younger than me.

My dad is 38, coincidentally. Or he will be on Saturday. He very much knows who Chris Pratt is.

Also, @"suspiciouscoffee"
I know, I'm totally the type of person to do that as well, though when it comes to film I just feel uncomfortable saying Movie. Something about the -y ending sound makes me feel childish. I guess it stems from a child calling their parents daddy or mommy, and an underlying need to prove I'm not a child. So yeah, I don't often say movie, unless I feel I'm saying film too much that my words start to sound repetitive and boring.

I’m 48. More than 10 years older than Crisp Rat.

Back on topic

Melody Time (1948)

Sort of a mini-Fantasia with 1940s music, highlights include Johnny Appleseed and Pecos Bill. Glad I imported the Australian DVD for Pecos Bill smoking.

I've always liked Christopher Lloyd, but I never realized before now just how damn good an actor he really is. That, and it's finally sunk in that he's gotten old; that definitely lends the film a melancholy, existential quality which works to its favour.

8/10

Tromeo & Juliet (1996)
A surprisingly faithful James Gunn (he has a great cameo halfway into the clip below) penned Troma adaptation of the Shakespeare play, set in modern-day Manhattan, featuring a menagerie of scuzzy freaks and oodles of sleazy sex, cartoonish violence and gross-out shenanigans. The 88-Films blu-ray has the film in Widescreen and open-matte, I went for the latter.

Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959)
I'm very familiar with the "worst movie ever made" from various films and docs but have never watched it all the way through. As 1950s B-movies go, the acting isn't all that bad but the dialogue the actors have to say is amazingly awful, as are the laughable sets. It's like an alien with no understanding of human customs, or human speech, or how a film is supposed to operate, was unaccountably given a job Directing.

The Lickerish Quartet (1970)
This Italian erotic-art-film starts with a wealthy, jaded and kinky couple and their grown up son watching a silent B&W 8mm porno, giving a running commentary, critiquing what is happening on screen. They later meet a wall-of-death rider girl who they believe was in the film and invite her back to their chateau. Things get progressively weirder and more dream-like as the film we are watching and the film we are watching them watching begin to merge.

Trailer NSFW:

Watched Joe Black for a second time this week, because my uncle had never seen it and was interested.
A second time, it's still a good movie, maybe not favorite film status, and I realize that the romance aspect isn't great. Maybe I should make an edit to focus on Anthony Hopkins' character....
And bleh, Brad Pitt is so cute in this film.

Mission Impossible: Fallout
Finally watched this one. Predictable and a bit drawn out/slow, but a solid, albeit slightly gory for PG-13, MI outing. The girl who played Max's daughter nailed the likeness of her predecessor. This movie ultimately felt like a spy adaptation of The Dark Knight Rises (especially with Lorne Balfe's Zimmer-esque score). Initial score 8/10. I'll have to see if the length and story can stand up over repeated viewings.

My Mission Impossible Best to Least: MI:RN, MI:I, MI:F, MI:3, MI:GP, MI:II

GRINGO (2018) from Amazon, currently on Netflix
http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93O9hDrE-cc[/video]
FANTASTIC!!!  A Tarantino-esqe violent crime dark comedy, filled with fun characters, lots of twists and surprises.  The trailer and Netflix description does it a complete disservice.  Very highly recommended!!! Thumbs Way, Way UP!

Anyone who calls Plan 9 the worst movie ever made has obviously never watched Red Zone Cuba.

My Neighbor Totoro
Sweet, nice, wholesome, just a great movie. 8/10

First Reformed (again)
So Paul Schrader is pretty gross and this movie isn't as perfect as I thought it was the first time.  Still an excellent damn film though, which is weird because I'm normally vocal against "separating art from artist" but... this is still really good, ugh.  9/10

Die Hard
I will never understand why people are so eager to die on the "Christmas movie" hill, but whatever, it's great whether or not it's a holiday movie.  8/10

Lords of the Deep
The new MST season is great.  Movie itself is not.  4/10

Brazil
Terry Gilliam is dumb and bad nowadays, but this movie still owns.  9/10

The Battle of Brazil
Short doc on the controversy around the American release of Brazil.  6/10

This is on Netflix not Amazon?

EDIT: Just checked and it's actually on Amazon.  Adding to my queue.

JEDIT: Looks like it got pretty bad reviews...
