It's definitive in my opinion as well.  His role as Frodo was the first thing that came to mind when I heard the sad news.

Farewell, probably, to Glee actress Naya Rivera, presumed drowned. Two of the other original (young) core cast members had already met untimely ends before this week... terrible. :(

 
He was my favorite Mythbuster, and I loved him as Sulu on the fan series Star Trek Continues.
 
Wilford Brimley was 80 years old for 40 years.  I thought he was going to live forever.  RIP.
