DVD architect changes AC3 audio bitrate?

Quick question for experts with architect.

I've got an original mpeg2 file with mpeg layer-2 audio at 384kbps.

When I author to disc using architect it naturally changes to AC3 which is fine, however it downgrades the bitrate to 192kbps. Even if I select 384kbps under optimise disc it still changes it.

Is there anything I can do or is this just the casualty of going from one format to another?

Is it a stereo track or 5.1? If it's stereo then it really doesn't need to be higher than 192, which would explain why Architect changes it. If it's 5.1 did you change the Architect project settings to say it's 5.1?

You could also try rendering an AC3 audio and using that instead. Maybe Architect won't change that one.

Hi Neg, yeah it's just two channels. 192 is probably good enough however I'd prefer to keep the bitrate the same.
