very enjoyable installment. great having neg in the fray, and I appreciated the occasional descent (or ascent) into goofy levity.

question, beezo: many of us who've been fanediting for a while know a few other faneditors' real names, but faneditors might not necessarily want their real names out there in the public, at least in an easily discoverable way. do you vet a particular faneditor's preferences on this matter before recording a show?

I second that. Haven't seen Payback or the fanedit but I listened anyway and was not disappointed. I enjoyed the looseness of it.

ssj: I was certainly asked ahead of time about the name thing FWIW

If you google "Neglify" you'll learn my name, so the point is moot in my case.

I don't mind honoring the anonymity.  As @"thecuddlyninja" pointed out, we did have that discussion beforehand.  I didn't know @"Neglify"'s name until we linked up on Skype.  His first name slipped out once or twice, but I tried to use his moniker primarily.  Generally speaking, I would try to hammer that out before recording.

The last episode was fun. I don't think I had actually heard Neglify before, and it seemed fitting that he sounded a little Tarantinoey/squirrely. :D I look forward to the next episode. In the meantime, its about time I add those Payback and Scream edits to my watch queue.

Cool, hope you eventually enjoy those edits!

And if that was the first time you've heard my voice, you must not have seen any of the Blaster Con videos.

Thanks for linking this video.  I hadn't seen it before and it was really cool seeing the craft on display like this.  Any chance the full presentation is available??

The podcast actually reminded me of those videos. I grabbed them after they were posted, but never got around to watching. Will need to do that now.

Unfortunately no. The recording and presentation was fairly amatuer and these clips are the best parts. I lost the raw footage when my FE hard drive failed, so this is all that remains. But there are 4 videos in that thread, so it's better than nuthin.

Fun episode. I think you guys got to the heart of many of my issues with Skyfall (I haven't seen the edit, though).

As a Bond fan, I do have a couple answers/corrections:

- On Her Majesty's Secret Service was the only Bond movie starring George Lazenby as Bond. It doesn't star Roger Moore.
- The movie with the girl painted gold is Goldfinger! Which makes sense in a movie so on-the-nose Goldfinger's first name is Auric.
- The typical thing isn't to catch a Bond actor in their 20s, none of them have ever played Bond in their 20s. Daniel Craig was in his late 30s when he took the role and the three before him were all in their 40s!
- Please don't watch Vanilla Sky. It's really bad, in a really messy way. Do see Jerry Maguire. Its moments have been parodied to death but I still think there are two really magnetic performances at the heart of it, then there's the third which won an Oscar (!). Well worth watching, in my opinion.

EDIT: The Bond theme is one of my favorites pieces of music so I can't tell if playing the midi version from like 1998 was genius or trolling. Well played. :)

Lol.  We should get you to do an error and omissions segment.  :p

I really enjoyed the episode and you guys all admitted big gaps in your Bond knowledge but I couldn't help myself! I would actually love to see a Bond get plucked early and we could see him grow into the classic Bond. Casino Royale did a great job with this even though Craig was almost 40. I think the Bond films are at their best with this dynamic and that's why each actor's best Bond movies tend to be their earliest ones. LastSurvivor's OHMSS edit is definitely worth watching, too.

Also, I'll be down for a Jerry Maguire pod anytime, have your people call my people.

New Episode has posted on the GBTM stream discussing Robots vs Kung Fu.

As an update for myself, my CPU has completely crashed and I can't get past the boot stage.  I am very frustrated as I've been working a significant fan edit for over a year and it is likely completely gone.  In the meantime, without my CPU, I won't be able to update my website as I would like and, even worse, there are episodes which appear to have not loaded successfully to the site and may be gone forever too.

If anybody has the hook-up in the Austin, Texas area for someone who can restore HDDs, please let me know.  Otherwise, I'm going to be out of commission for a bit now.

What do you mean by CPU? You mean your computer? The CPU is the processor (Central Processing Unit) and if that was fried you wouødn't get anywhere.
Sounds like a HDD problem, like you say. Open it up, take the HDD out, and put it in another machine. I'm sure you know to make sure the computers are powered OFF when doing this, but just in case...!
You should hopefully be able to get most if not all the info off it.
Now. Get a new HDD AND AN EXTERNAL BACKUP HDD. Back up regularly...
A great (free) solution is to put your backup disk at someone else's house (eg: your parents), then use CrashPlan to backup daily to that drive.
Or get office 365 and upload everything to OneDrive (1TB)

Several new episodes have been posted since my last update.  We've tackled Silent Hill: Restless Dreams, Nightmare on Elm Street: Anthology Vol 1, and the Time Travel Consecution.

Are there any plans to do the second disc of the Time Travel Consecution? That one was very fun.

Took a listen to the Time Travel one - thanks for the kind words on the Terminator short, really appreciate it.

I need to listen to more of these... Problem is there aren't many of edits I've seen. Guess I need to watch more edits...
