Yes the Abyss R1/R2 transfer is absolutely bloody terrible, right up there with Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels for horrible quality.

Must watch The Host again sometime it's been a while and it is a fantastic movie.

yeah the abyss looks like crap, and its letterboxed 4:3
theres one half decent copy available on R6 NTSC thats Anamorphic, and while still the same transfer (as far as i can tell), it looks alot better simply because it not letterbox.

I got over the past few weeks:

Bluray:

Shawshank
Darkman
Forrest Gump
Gladiator
Braveheart
District 9
THX1138
LA Confidential
Toy Story 3

I got the regular dvd edition and its still a nice set with comic and postcards and forewords, wasn't too expensive either.

My most recent purchases have been Mulan and Fantasia (never seen it before) amazon uk have got a 2 disney films for £!2.50 deal on currently.

Also bought Naruto Shippuden episodes 1-52 for £32 from a marketplace seller.

Didn't purchase these but Friday my dad went out and bought the new Harry Potter film on Blu-Ray and Saturday he decided to upgrade so he went out and bought the first 6 films on Blu-Ray so I got Years 1-6 for free. Years 4 and 5 are unfortunately only the single-disc releases though. But still, can't complain when they were free. :)

Curdled (2.99$)
Seed Of Chucky (Unrated)(4.99$)
Prime Time Crime: The Stephen J. Cannell Collection (12.99$)

I already own Seed Of Chucky in the Chucky Collection box set but unfortunately they only included the theatrical cut. The unrated cut also has more extras as well. Although according to http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=6777 the deleted scene that is included has a forced audio commentary track on it. Strangely enough though the R2 disc from France, the only other disc with the deleted scene, offers the scene without audio commentary.:-?

Prime Time Crime: The Stephen J. Cannell Collection is awesome. It's a 10-disc set with 43 hours and 15 minutes worth of Stephen J. Cannell shows. A total of 54 episodes. Here's what's included:

Four previously unreleased series:

- Missing Persons: Complete Series (18 episodes)
- Broken Badges: Complete Series (7 episodes)
- Palace Guard: Complete Series (9 episodes)
- Unsub: Complete Series (8 episodes)

12 Fan-Favorite Episodes:

- Wiseguy: "Pilot" parts 1 & 2
- The Commish: "Suffer The Children" parts 1 & 2
- Hunter: "Hot Pursuit" parts 1 & 2
- Cobra: "The Gnome"
- The Greatest American Hero: "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys"
- Tenspeed & Brown Shoe: "Savage Says: There's No Free Lunch"
- Silk Stalkings: "To Serve And Protect"
- 21 Jump Street: "La Bizca"
- Booker: "Father's Day"

What got me particularly interested in this set, aside from the price and the Cannell shows  is that the show "Missing Persons" starred Jorja Fox who plays Sara Sidle on CSI. Gotta love these sets from Mill Creek.
