Beetlejuice 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition.

Nothing "Deluxe" about it. Static menus, no music.

No making of docs, no production stills, not a single commentary.

Only "extras" are 3 Beetlejuice cartoon eps and trailers for a few Burton movies.

Oh, and you can watch it with the soundtrack only. Wow.

"Happy Anniversary, Beetlejuice fans. I hope you like crap!"

wow, is that a complete slap in the face. bastards. I guess I'll stick with my old un-special DVD, and avoid the new un-special DVD

I gave in Saturday and bought the Target-exclusive DVD set of Iron man that comes in a plastic head.

That's actually not exclusive to Target because HMV has it as well. Although they have it listed as an HMV exclusive but that could be because we don't have Target here in Canada and I'm not sure if you guys have HMV in the States. Still why call something an exclusive to one store when another country has it at another store?

I wanted to grab the Blade Runner briefcase but never did. Now it's actually cheaper for me to grab the 5-disc Blu-Ray set and wait until I get a Blu-Ray player than to buy the 4-disc DVD set. At Best Buy I can grab the Blu-Ray set for 26.99$ whereas the regular DVD set, which is one disc shorter than the the Blu-Ray, is ten bucks more.

I wanted that Alien box set ever since I first saw it but I thought it was exclusive to Japan. They always get the coolest shit. I had no idea about the Predator one but it looks real cool. Although at only 100 copies made it would be nearly impossible to get now.

Cursed
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
James Bond Ultimate Edition Volume 1

The James Bond box set contains:

- Goldfinger
- Diamonds Are Forever
- The Man With The Golden Gun
- The Living Daylights
- The World Is Not Enough

I'm surprised at how cheap it was. I picked it up at Wal-Mart for 35.83$ and everywhere else it's around 70$. I'm also curious as to what reasoning went behind which movies were included in each volume, there's four volumes with five movies each and each movie is two discs. I bought this one because Goldfinger is my favorite Bond movie but I wish they had included Live And Let Die and Dr. No in this set.

I should be good now DVD-wise until Tuesday when the new Halloween box set comes out.

That's because Wal-Mart is the ultimate evil, and they do all sorts of shittiness to give you cheap stuff.

Yeah I've seen two documentaries on Wal-Mart and they don't make out too well. I don't know if they're different in Canada though because my mom's friend works there and apparently they get benefits which iirc from the documentaries they don't get in the States. But they do have some pretty good prices so it's hard to stay some times when you can find something there way cheaper than anywhere else.

They do that on purpose. They know there's plenty of people out there who only prefer one Bond actor over another, so they spread them out over the boxes to force you to buy the whole set to get all the ones you want. Of course, if you were to ask them why they do it this way, they'll just give you the "doe eyes" and say "We want each box to be a cross-section of the Bond series so that new viewers get a taste of everything."

Yeah, right. :x

Picked up the 30th Anniversary Commemorative Set of Halloween today, box #10242 out 20000, and I also got Mercenary For Justice. My dad actually bought that one but turns out he already had it so he gave it to me. I was kind of hoping for more out of the Halloween box set. All they did was repackage the editions of Halloween (both the theatrical and extended editions), the first disc of 25 Years Of Terror, Halloween 4 and Halloween 5 and they threw in the Blu-Ray edition of Halloween as well. I was kind of hoping that the'd include the 2-disc 25th Anniversary edition of Halloween instead of the single disc edition which contains the same special features that were included on the most recent VHS edition. The 25 Years Of Terror disc is the also the exact same one that I have in the 2-disc edition but this is only the first disc and it even says that on the main menu. Halloween 4 and 5 are the same editions released through Anchor Bay's Divimax series as well. If you've already got these releases when they were sold seperately then you can pass this one up, unless you're a collector and want to get it because it's limited to 20000 copies.

It would have been nice if they had included the 25th Anniversary edition of the first film instead of the one they included as well as a disc with all-new special features but seeing as I only had the 25 Years Of Terror DVD and the Blu-Ray edition of the first film is included I won't complain, still it would have been nice. I'm kind of curious why they only included Halloween 1, 4 and 5. I can understand not including the third film since it has nothing to do with the rest of the series but why was part 2 left out? And come to think of it the Producer's Cut of part 6 would have made a nice addition to this set, even though I already have it.

The Mangler
The Mangler 2
Alien 3000
Book Of Shadows: Blair Witch 2
Foxy Brown
Coffy
Tales Of Voodoo Volume 2
- Ghost Ninja
- Primitives
Bikini Party Massacre
Cyborg 2

All that for 3 bucks each. I'm kind of disappointed with Bikini Party Massacre because I thought it was going to be one of those 80's slasher films but it's a shot on video film from 2002, although according to the imdb it was shot in the Ottawa Valley so that's kind of cool.

Cyborg 2 also stars a young Angelina Jolie. According to the imdb it's only her fourth film and she was 18 at the time.

It's because 1, 4, and 5 are the only ones they have distribution rights to.

Halloween 2 & 3 are owned by Universal, and 6-8 are owned by Dimension.
