I saw MCC once and wasn't terribly impressed, but then, one of the few things I like less than ironic/"edgy" Christmas cheer is genuine Christmas cheer. (I'm all for family time and putting on a celebration amidst the year's darkest/shortest days, but just about everything else I can do without.) Kiss Kiss Bang Bang/Iron Man 3 is about as much Christmas per movie as I can tolerate.
I sometimes wish the Muppets had made more theatrical literary adaptations, though I admit (even if I personally only like one of them) Christmas Carol and Treasure Island are both unbeatable and peerless selections, so I'm not sure what other stories would have measured up. Maybe a pastiche of Greek myths such as the labors of Hercules or the voyage of the Argonauts? Conan Arthur Doyle's The Lost World? Lady Chatterley's Lover? (Okay, that one was a joke, but now that I think on it, Pride and Prejudice might actually be ideal.)
