Absolutely but the recent 'Filmworker' Documentary gave the impression that Kubrick drove everybody crazy by obsessively checking every release of his films, comparing the transfer against his "master" print and even analyzing the cover art for imperfections and typos. So it's possible he did this for the first DVD release in 1998 but obviously not for any DVD releases after that because he was busy being dead .
