RCA / JVC equipment used to blow off Macro.
I could dub between VCRs and VCR - LD.

Good to know, thanks. I've got two VCR's but neither of them are RCA or JVC. One's Sharp, but mono, and the other one is Sony, and stereo. A friend of mine had a 6-head VCR about 15 years ago that got rid of macrovision, but I don't recall what brand it was. I'll have to check out the VCR's next time I hit up the Salvation Army or Value Village.

The big issue with VCR units now, as with Laserdisc, are the drive belts.
They were rubber and could have dried hard.
If possible, you might to plug and test.
Load in a useless VHS, say something from your beloved "Complete Smurfs" collection or "He Man Meets She Man."

Picked up the Carrie remake on Blu-Ray for 9.99$ and the remastered Robocop Blu-Ray for 7.99$ at Best Buy tonight. Robocop came with movie money, up to 8$, to see Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. I was really surprised at how many movies included movie money. Not just for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes either, but also for How To Train Your Dragon 2 and the new Transformers movie. Kinda disappointed that Carrie didn't have any movie money though. At first I thought it's probably cause Carrie is horror and DOTPOTA is sci-fi/action, but then I saw that Anchorman 2 had movie money for the new Transformers movie so that kinda disqualifies my theory.

The 'Bond 50' blu-ray collection. Contemplating adding the David Niven 'Casino Royale' and Connery's 'Never Say Never Again' blu-rays, just for completism.

Picked up 2 double feature blu-rays at Walmart for $6 total - 'Mr Sardonicus/The Brotherhood of Satan' and 'Galaxina/The Crater Lake Monster'. Hoping for a 'so-bad-they're-good' experience. But probably getting just a 'so-bad'...

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (Deluxe Edition)

I was seriously considering picking this one up the other day when I bought X-Men: First Class, but I wanted to check out the review on Blu-Ray.com first. I had already seen the two individual films, but I wanted to see if the extras were worth it. Aside from including all the extras from the individual releases, minus the sneak peeks, this release also includes an audio commentary track with director Jay Oliva, writer Bob Goodman and voice director Andrea Romano, as well as a 69-minute documentary entitled "Masterpiece: Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns". Needless to say the review sold me, and at only 15$ how could I say no?

Continuing the Batman theme, I picked up 'Batman/Batman Returns/Batman Forever/Batman and Robin' boxset at Walmart for $12. Really only interested in the first two, but still.

Is that the actual box set, with the 2-disc editions, or the "4 Film Favorites" collection?

Four Film Favourites. I suppose 'boxset' is a misnomer on my part, seeing as it comes in one normal-sized case. Haven't checked to see if there are any special features - not mentioned on the case. Still, pretty happy with the price even so.

At that price that's what I figured. Pretty sure the only extras included on those are all text-based, and possibly the trailers. The ones you want to get are the two-disc editions, which are the ones that come in the actual box set.

I second this. I had the 2 disc set of Batman ('89) and can vouch for the phenomenal features on this set. I only had to get the remaining ones but could never find them. So, looking to pick up the box set someday perhaps.
