I picked up the complete collection of Hal Roach era Laurel & Hardy films. I watched quite a few of the shorts as a kid during the summer holidays and I've seen several of their main feature silms so looking forward to sitting through all of these.

Mad TV: The Complete Second Season
Moby Presents: Alien Sex Party
Mike Hammer: Song Bird
Saturday Night Live: The Best Of Chris Farley (most recent release)
Memento Mori

Mad TV was 20$ but all the other ones were only 3$ brand new. Alien Sex Party sounded too weird to pass up.

Here's the description from the back cover:

ALIEN SEX PARTY (previously titled PORNO) is a comic frenzy filled with sexual innuendo, music, science fiction and all combinations thereof. In an adult video store on Christmas Eve we join Joe (the befuddled owner who is terrified of his own merchandise), Adam (an employee who spouts indignation on all subjects) and Tina ( a woman who's unabashed promiscuity lends itself well to the locale). There are also dancing security guards, mad bombers, Trekkies, porn-obsessed freaks, musical numbers, porn star cameos and appearances by executive producer Moby, all proving that sex is not a crime and that the Christmas spirit can be found anywhere, even in a video store.

Plus the back cover includes a shot a Dyanna Lauren, one of my all-time favorite pornstars, and a shot of Moby wearing two dildos on his head as he plays the guitar in a rain coat. Honestly, who could have passed all that weirdness up for only 3$?

I see they stole my idea for an album cover.

Just in case the sight of a man wearing two dildos on his head is considered NSFW.

I gave that a +1 and then immediately regretted it.

Is it just the two episodes, as aired on tv, or the two episodes edited into a film format like shown theatrically?

Gamera rocks!!!!

Is this the original movies or the relaunch from the 90s?

I believe it the format they used in theatres last week for the one night showing.

It opens the same, all the commercial breaks are present, but the cliffhanger ending is removed and edited into one scene.

Paramount announced today they releasing the TNG REDEMPTION cliffhanger the same way in July. Which is cool because I like it more than Best of the Both Worlds.

Also, right now, both Best Buy and Future Shop are carrying the TNG DVD season sets for $35 bucks!!! Great deal!

So it's edited into one 90-minute episode then instead of separated into two, like when they aired on tv. I was just curious because I was wondering why you'd buy it if it was just the two episodes as aired when it would be cheaper to just buy the two seasons from which they came from. I know technically the seasons would cost more but considering that you get two full seasons, consisting of 52 episodes, the overall price would be cheaper than buying just the two episodes.

I think they're selling the entire franchise pretty cheap. I know I saw the original series for about 30$ a season and the animated series for 20$. I think Deep Space Nine or Voyager is around 40$ too. Not sure about Enterprise though.

I already own TNG on regular DVD (or more specifically seasons 3-6... I find season 1,2 and 7 almost unwatchable...LOL) and I am not a big enough fan to upgrade to the new Blu-ray versions, but I will buy the special releases of certain stories. ;-)

That's a good enough reason if I ever heard one. :D

The 1996 tv series DARK SKIES!!! The bonus feature interviews are FANTASTIC! The creators are hardcore avid UFO believers and it adds another interesting layer when rewatching the series. I always loved the series concept -- history is a lie/real historical events shaped by Aliens -- though the execution did not always succeed. But I would have loved to have seen this continue on for a few more seasons according to the original 5 year arc. Each season would have basically covered a decade until it caught up with real time on New Year's Eve 2000.

Though judging from the bonus features, this concept may have been abandoned if they returned for season 2 and if that is true, then I am glad it did not continue.

Anyway, a fun alternate history series that I recommend to any UFO buffs or X-Files fans.

TNG Best of Both Worlds Blu-Ray. My first ever Star Trek video purchase (other than a VHS tape of "Conspiracy" years ago at the flea market when I happened to see it and was in the mood to watch it). It really still is awesome after all of this time, and the exclusive retrospective and audio commentary are nice. I love how Dennehy still remembers some of her lines, and I agree with Frakes that they should have used her again (First Contact would have been the obvious place for her to re-appear).
